This shot shows the Allied losses. Quite acceptable. And the Axis lose the Tirpitz and have the only German carrier in dry dock now.

In China after years on the defensive the Chinese launch a very high risk attack against a lone unit in the mountains, with militia and a div to lose this attack is deemed acceptable. But a high roll means only some disruption for the Chinese. And finally some forward movement.

And in France, the Allied High Command decides that this beachhead is here to stay. Now the problem will be the breakout. @ more CW corp land along with a very strong American armor corp.

AXIS #7 JULY/AUG 42

Italy naval, Germany and Japan land moves.

The Italians send out subs to Biscay and the North Atlantic. Transports with escorts pick up troops from Egypt.

Sub searches fail (6&9 N Atl, 5&6 Biscay). In Biscay maybe just as well.

The Germans rail Antonescu out east from the Sevastopol siege, in support of Rommel and the available southern USSR resources. Heavy artillery is railed from the east to Nantes.

The Luftwaffe miss Yeremenko for a second time.

Stukas miss another ground strike against Reds holding ground that looks key to whole Soviet position in the south.

Umezu moves to close the gap in his line caused by Stilwell's recent lucky attack, at the cost of disorganising himself.

ALLIED #8 JUL/AUG 42 sees them all pass and roll 2 to end the turn.

Destroyed units this turn.

The German lose a battleship each time they enter the North Sea.

The British take losses in France and Belgium, and lose colonial units in the Middle East.

AXIS #3 SEPT/OCT 1942

Axis lost the initiative, but weather is unsuitable for fighting across most of the world.

Japan and Italy take naval moves.

The Italians now patrol the Red Sea, and have a small fleet in E Med picking up land units. Subs head out from Brest to Biscay and the North Atlantic.

The Japanese go after some of the remaining Allied cps in the Pacific, but are deterred from immediately sending further troops in India and Burma by an RN fleet in Bay of Bengal.

So the fleet based in Singapore steams out to join their compatriots who stayed out last turn in the 2 box.

The only Axis search to find anything is in the distant waters of the South Pacific. In clear weather the heavy cruisers Tone and Suzuya destroy a Dutch cp.

Weather improves globally as the impulse ends. German forces in Western France steel themselves against the expected assault from the growing Allied force south of the Loire. Strong German reinforcements drive through the Ile de France, and formerly mothballed Ju86G bombers take up positions to support von Leeb's army Group.

It's not so easy to get four corps into the Caucasus. They still can't be railmoved into that region and last turn Rommel lost all his troops on the attack on Tiflis...

AXIS #6 SEP/OCT 1942

Kuomintang forces captured Chihkiang, but took losses too. A bit awkward at the palace as the Emperor thought Umezu dead already.

Italy declared war on Greece. Greece aligns to CW.

3 land actions.
