Couldn't get Blutengel down to a top 10 - top 12 was the best I could do.

So to kick off we have

No.12 Reich mir die Hand - Tranenherz (2011)

Such intense music.

If you are gonna fire up your Pz IV, you should atleast utilize the only usable part of the movie Battle of the Bulge, and play Panzerlied

But if German is what you are after, you could always go with
Rammstein - Ich Will , or
ManoWar's german version of Heart of Steal - Herz aus Stahl.

Right now I am listening alot to Dylan;
Subterranean Homesick Blues
Don't think twice it's all right
Tangled up in blue
Hurricane
Just like a woman
Melancholy Mood
With God on our side

Well that's a pain. I can only find a live version of No.10. This doesn't quite get over how good this toon (especially the intro) is but at least you get a flavour.

No.10 Der Spiegel - Seelenschmerz (2001)

Next is the second offering from the Angel Dust album

No.9 Angel of the Night - Angel Dust (2002)

The singer on this track is Eva Polzing. She has a beautiful voice - and the fact that she can't pronounce the letter v just adds to the endearing quality of her voice.

Next up is also from Angel Dust and features the other female singer (Constance Rudert) at the time - who also cannot pronoun her v's but does not detract from the song - merely brings out her Germanic voice. Back to a suitably dark offering from the German funsters

No.8 Black Wedding - Angel Dust (2002)

At Number seven we have the title track from their 2001 studio album. I cannot find an original, non-live version (so this is a later re-mix). Its not that different, but the original is better (has less of a dance feel about it).

I can't find a studio version of No.6 - which is really annoying as this is a suitably intense piece of music. However, I have come across this very interesting orchestral piece.

No.6 Die With You - Seelenschmerz (2001)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDxI6PQ0fZc&list=RDGDxI6PQ0fZc#t=74

There is a live version here too - but the studio version needs to be heard to properly appreciate it.

Number 5 is a bit cheeky - its actually 5(a) and 5(b) as I couldn't separate these two.

One is dark, brooding and intense - The End of Love - Angel Dust (2002), while the second is equally brooding but altogether much lighter thanks to the Eva Polzing's superbly angelic voice - Ice Angel - Demon Kiss (2004)

Soz - but I did the same at number four (I suppose its a top 14 really isn't it?)....

The first song I really listened to was Vampire Romance Part I - Angel Dust (2002). It reminded me of Human League on steroids. Equal fourth is a newer toon, Asche Zu Asche - Omen (2015) - their 9th studio album.

And that leaves a top three....how do I split these???? All very different types of music within the expected Blutengel offering....

At number three I am going to put this monster track. I love the string sound that brings this track to a suitably, uplifting crescendo .

At number 2, a track that was, for a long time, my favourite but has been knocked from the top spot for the simple reason that Eva Polzing's voice trumps that of Chris Pohl. This song is so melancholy, so dark.... and so beautiful.

.....and that leaves the new number one. What a wonderfully delicate voice to go with that musical arrangement - what is that? a harp? there's a piano, and some kind of woodwind instrument that really brings out the sheer depth of the despair in which the singer finds herself. Just beautiful.

No.1 Silent Tears - Demon Kiss (2004)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xzHPCVq1U0

I know the darkness is your leader,
There's no light inside your heart.
I can't forget that your depression
Breaks my love apart.
I spread my wings against your shadow.
My love can’t really light your shades.
And I wish I could forgive you,
But every day is still the same.

I feel our love is not forever,
Seems like a never ending one.
You can’t repair my bleeding soul
'cause no one hurts like you, my dear.

And I will never fly with you.
Never you should see me cry.
I never told my dreams to you,
You could never see in my eyes
But in my tears dissolves our heaven,
All my love and all my dreams.
I realize I can’t stand your coldness.
I realize too late, my dear.

And I will never fly with you.
Never you should see me cry.
I never told my dreams to you,
You could never see in my eyes.
But in my tears dissolves our heaven,
All my love and all my dreams.
I realize I can’t stand your coldness.
I realize too late, my dear
