M/A 42 Axis 5

No DoW or alignments.

Germany air, Italy naval, Japan land.

Germany and Italy send a fighter each to Biscay 2-box.

Italy sends 2 CA to Italian Coast 4-box and 2 to the 0-box (intercepts declined, hopefully the right choice). BB, 2CA and TRANS go to West Med 2-box and load AT gun from Tripoli.

Four areas were available for naval combat but the Axis decline Baltic and Italian Coast.

First up East Med.

The Italian sub initiates and will commit. Do the Allies wish to fly a Beaufighter or Lanc' from Malta as support?

The Italian sub in Gibraltar sailed to the East Med?

Edit: The CW air declines to support the East Med. However, the US TAC3 on Malta will fly to the 0-box.

Apologies, I lost my first draft of the post when it timed out on me. Thought I had covered everything. Italian sub from Gib to East Med.

Yea, that timeout is annoying. Nowdays I do my drafts on notepad and then copy it to the forum.

Searches: Axis 6, Allies 1. Allies have 5 surprise points. Do they wish to avoid combat or boost their damage?

If we can boost the damage to at least one D then we take the combat. Otherwise we pass.

The sub is damaged as the Allies opt for naval air combat and use points to boost damage.

Despite the damage, it sticks around for another go.

Searches: Axis 5, Allies 2. Allies find and send the sub back to port.

Bay of Biscay.

The German FTR initiates combat. The Italians add another NAV to the 2-box.

Allies have a Spit, Mustang based in Spain and Lanc' from UK that can reach up to the 1-box. Do they join the party already in full swing?

CW add the A-36 to the 0-box. US add the A-24, and the B-18, to the 0-box.

Combat is initiated by the sub.

The Italians don't fly any additional support. The Allies can fly the Beuafighter to the 2-box and the Lanc' up to the 3-box. Do they fly? Axis have a 4-factor FTR in the 0-box.

No ground strikes.

Germany rails Bf-109 from Spain to Memel.

China/Manchuria following Japanese land moves. In addition, the pinned Harbin MIL moves a hex to the east in central China, becoming disorganised.

Mar/Apr 1942
Impulse: 7 (Allied)

Land Movement (cont):

Koniev's 1st Far Eastern Front receive orders to move out despite the poor weather conditions. Koniev's left wing, consisting of 39th Rifle Army and the reinforced Mountain Corps are ordered to the foot of the Changbai Mountains, their place taken by the 2nd Siberian Corps. Koniev re-positions his HQ for better control of the forthcoming battle; the target is the Manchurian capital of Changchun which is guarded only by the 29th Garrison Army.

The US Army continue their build-up in the UK with three more units being unloaded at Glasgow.

Land Combat:
Commonwealth
The CW make an automatic attack against a partisan in central India using the 21st Indian Mechanised Corps.

Soviet Union
The Soviets launch an assault against Changchun utilising the following:

1st Siberian Corps
4th Guards Mechanised Army
39th Rifle Corps
1st Mountain Corps
Mountain Division

The odds are 19.5:3 or 5:1. The Soviets bring in two bombers and can intercept with a 5-strength MiG. The Japanese can intercept with a Zero. What do they want to do?
