I love light bombers, but in this game they are going fighter bomber. It costs 10 PP per plane to convert them.

I have shut down all production of every bomber with the exception of the Sally. There is absolutely no bomber research going on.

When the Peggy comes along (1/44) and IF I cam still in the game, we will make it. Until then for the Army it will be the Sally and existing pools.

But Lowpe, what about the Lilly divebomber. Nope...no plans on making it.

Army bombers are getting the short end of the stick this game.

Conserving PP...I will probably spend in the neighborhood of 3000 PP doing these conversions, but every little bit I can save will be great. I am aggressively, to the point it hurts, harvesting PP from early withdraw of air squadrons. Here is another way to save on some PP:

Light Bomber reinforcements...unfortunately, I know of no way on figuring out if the group later withdraws or expands. I guess I will have to wait.

I don't know how wild and crazy I am going to go on the FB conversions (insane would be a good bet), but here is a tactic I do plan to try out although at this point I haven't tested to see if it works.

I remember there is at least one monster bomber squadron...that gets sized to 40+ planes in 1944 sometime, but so far I have been unable to find it.

Fighter Bombers...

Will make the Nick A and Randy.

My goal is to add a few more r&d factories to the Randy once the A6M3 arrives in June. I would like to get the Randy in first quarter 44...

This is a wildly expensive strategy as the Nick and Randy have two engines and is not something I would recommend to other JFBs. But, in this game, I think I can make it work. I just need to be careful...economy wise (might already be too late for that). We shall see.

Nope, no Helen. I might have a trainer squadron of them from new arrivals, but no Helen.

The red units should arrive at Tokyo ...

Click on the unit name. If the unit is scheduled for a subsequent withdrawal, the withdrawal date is given. No date = not withdrawn.

I know, but it is something on the order of a month delay.

Found one! Thanks, I never saw that before, but never really looked very hard either. I kept clicking until I found one.

Okay, TrueBelievers....the morrows turn is sure to have lots of carnage for good or worse.

With a bit of superior planning, courtesy of General Defense HQ and 13th Army Corp HQ Wenchow might fall quicker than I have ever taken it before. Leadership counts...

But that is not all the action...carriers are turning into the wind; Zeroes are flying a hideous long distance for some fireworks; will the Rooskies close the Kotou pocket trapping 4 IJA divisions; what of the Allied counter attack in Sumatra; the Japanese invasion of Sakhalin; the burning baby carrier; subs galore; I could go on and on and on.

There will be blood in the pixels. Nothing and nowhere is safe...as cargo ships burn from LA to the Straits of Malacca...oh, the horror of a world at war (and not even scenario 2).

You have until 1944 to retake the base!

It is not outside the realm of possibility. So don't laugh so hard.

I suspect the Soviets will go all out with naval attacks in and around Sakhalin with plenty of ground air attacks too.

I don't know where he can launch torpedoes from, but if he planned it out well he will launch torps from the farthest base at high or low altitude hoping to get thru a weakened CAP from earlier air attacks.

Only no replacements might stop him, which is really doubtful. Another possible strategy is different ranged attacks hoping to catch shipping other than my carriers.

A relatively important day in the war...it might take Obvert a while to flip the turn.

In other news, the damaged Ashigara escaped Georgetown and will arrive in Rangoon shortly. She will be back in fighting trim in 20 days or so, well at least repaired enough to do bombardments.

Edit: the other option is one torpedo strike escorted by all Mig-3...

Feb 27, 1942

Lots of Allies subs in the Straits of Malacca, plus these patrol boats.

There will be lots of action today!

The Tone returns to the war with a great bombardment at Sakhalin. American infantry presence cannot be confirmed, but American naval planes present.

Severe storms in outer Mongolia were playing havoc with a flight of Zeroes...elite pilots who had coaxed their fighters a tremendous distance looking for all things British Bombers. The flight started with 40 planes and was now down to just six....the radio comms had been busy for the last half hour as fuel reached critical.

The destroyer squadron in the Straits is attacked three more times by Allied air, and in the afternoon a few Nates wander over, but are generally ineffective....

Some Kates blunder over Batavia and attack some AVDs but are shredded by a few Allied fighters...

And near Sakhalin....burning baby carrier is really zig and zagging to avoid subs while carrier pilots sortie to destroy more MBR-2.

The anticipated big aerial attack by the Soviets doesn't materialize....imagine that!

What fate the burning baby carrier, you may ask. Her task force was assaulted by many Soviet subs...all that dodging and weaving...can't be good! Plus they like to burn like bad toast....
