I'm not sure but I think it's an engineer unit but it's run by a rear admiral and it's got four staff cars and
some Axis arty observers to boot. I've got to get this bad boy into combat somewhere. Maybe southern China.
But for now it's doing a fine job at Hong Kong.

Here's a list of the troop transports TF's and it looks like there's lots of them. I'm buying out the LCU's that
moved to Fusan and Shanghi and they are leaving the ports daily for other places. Lots of troops moving.

Okay, it's official, Jan. 20, 1941 Miri became operational. All the damage is fixed and the oil refinery is
humming along and Miri has top cover and the only thing missing is the AF dudes.

EDIT: Also, I don't remember pulling oil out of Miri before so this may be the very first TF loading now.

I noticed that Karor has no HQ unit to despense TT's to the squadrons and I thought I'd go looking for one to
move there and then I noticed that Miri has three HQ units there for some reason. I'm using them for the AF
support section of the HQ units and if I had some dedicated AF guys there I could move one or two of the HQ's.
There's lots of those kinds of things at Fusan just waiting for a boat-ride.

All my minelayers are back from their initial mission and they are refit and refueled all they need are some
mines and there's no HQ at Babeldoab ( Karor in RHS ) to despense them so they have laid all the mines they
are going to lay for a while. I could have sworn that I had an HQ there. I need one there. I'll look around.

Here's the ship repair yard at Karor: As you can see I've got some CS's in the oven....they are all conversions
from other ship types, I don't remember which. There's only two ships in the shipyard right now but that's
going to change when just one more ship limps into harbor looking for repairs. There's several getting repaired
from combat already.

I found a 24-man AF unit at Pescadores that volunteered to go to Miri and replace those HQ units. They should be
there in about two weeks.

Larry, your "unknown region" has substantial amounts of res/oil. I think this warrants a closer look.

I think you're right. But the way to fix the region problem has only one permanent fix. I mean I could
change the region assignment in Tracker so it's right. But there's no way to write the change that I'm
aware of. So the only permanent fix is for somebody to look all those places up and fix the regions file
we're using when we import a regions file. That's my understanding.

I found a way to export the Bases in unknown region 1 to a CSV file that can be loaded in excell to be viewed, edited, etc.
and I've attached it here below if somebody wants to be adventuresome and find the region for all these bases.

I guess its something I'll have to do eventually. I'll get started.

Hold the presses. I got to looking around after exporting my first CSV file and found a way to export your base
regions. So I can use Tracker to look these places up and fix them and then post the fixed region file to the
forum. I'll get started.

There's an unknown region 1 and an unknown region 2 and I think maybe I can fix all of them. I've started with
unknown region 1.

So many interesting thing!

- First of all, the impression is that there's a misunderstanding regarding the efficiency of ship construction's acceleration.

That is, a ship which is currently due to completion after 1945, CAN be brought into completion even an year or more before if steadily accelerated for some months;
details in the relative post by NYGiants above;

- Mine rearming: are you sure you need an HQ for mine rearming?? I think it's dependant only 1) by availabilty of mines in the stockpile, and then from the size of the port and supplies available there, but no dependance from Hq, am I wrong here?

- Airfield expansion (in this case Miri), usually peole do not waste supplies and resources in building infrastructures that are not perspected as needed;

do you foresee a need for a 6 sized airfield t Miri rather than the actual 5 sized?

the expansion of a port in Miri is quite expensive, but it may be well worth of the expense, in order to drastically accelerate fuel and oil loading and the number and tonnage of ships that could be docked and served.

- "Axis" spotter: it is there for chrome only, right? And, why Axis?? to represent some German and/or Italian spotters attached to IJA'units???

- Hyuga guns rearming: why a fully repaired 8 sized port as Hong Kong should not be able to rearm the 406 mm guns, if the required amount of supply is there present??

- PTs availble in numbers from the beginning, wonderful mode, BESOS. I'd be more and more than happy to produce a good number of them ASAP, but that's only me and my opinion..

- Subs halted contruction: are u sure you won't be willing to have some more subs in future (some at least, if not all)?

Nakajima Ha-5 ??? etc halted production due to 500 quote reached; sure you want to shut down EVERY factory, even some of the smallest, producing it?

Yeah, it CAN be accellerated but the cost is prohibitive sometimes. I'd
rather wait until I can afford to do things like that. Maybe I can. I'll
take a hard look at the Naval Shipyard points and see what's possible. I'm
pretty sure I can afford the HI but triple the cost....makes my nose itch.

I hope you're right because that would be good news. I'm so new to this game
I'm not sure about it myself. I'm just playing this game by the seat of my
pants and don't have a plan or anything. It's a roller coaster.

Actually now that you bring it up. I'm not sure it needs a size 5 field.
Something for the heavier bombers is all that's needed. I'll try to remember
to shut off the expansion of the airfield. Good catch my friend.

I can see the worth of your words. I can see I need a bigger port at Miri
I'll expand that bad boy next time I get the turn back from Brian.

- "Axis" spotter: it is there for chrome only, right? And, why Axis?? to represent some German and/or Italian spotters attached to IJA'units???

I'd be guessing if I said anything but I seem to remember there being Jap
Army observers present at the Torento attack where Italian biplanes struck
with torpedoes in a shallow harbor and got them to work. Eventually this
lead to the idea to try the same thing at Pearl. That's what I seem to
remember.

- Hyuga guns rearming: why a fully repaired 8 sized port as Hong Kong should not be able to rearm the 406 mm guns, if the required amount of supply is there present??

That may be the problem after all because Hong Kong is struggling to get a
good supply level started. I've got the stockpiling turned on and the
required supplies requested is about 5K and so far no go. China is
notorious for poor supply.

I never seem to get much milage out of the PT boats. They seem to sink
really well though. I don't seem to have a use for them. Too short a range
for one thing.

- Subs halted contruction: are u sure you won't be willing to have some more subs in future (some at least, if not all)?

Michael said to put the kabosh on all of them so I did. I don't forsee a
need to replace the 100 of them that I have already. Unless the ASW war
heats up remarkably. I'll play this situation by ear.

Nakajima Ha-5/1000 halted production due to 500 quote reached; sure you want

I know it sounds insane but I need an accurate number for how many are
actually being produced every day. I don't trust Tracker and my Mark One
Eyeball isn't as accurate as I need. So if I already have over 500 of them
turning off the production of all of them will bring the level down closer to
the 505 I'm aiming for and when I know how many I need each day I can turn on
just that many factories and things should be stable for a while.

Naka Ha-5 Engines: Why are you stopping? You should here, but look at my instructions here. When you have Tracker open....click on Air Production....now "Engines" tab...then "Planning Pop Up." Use this to plan how many of each engines you need to produce. Caution!! The bottom box is not 100% accurate as some airframes with engines are wrong, but it will get you close.

DO NOT repair any Manpower and Resource centers. You should capture enough intact to feed your economy.

WITP Chart: You will need to increase Vehicle to 200 to 225. Notice your large negatives on Oil and Fuel.

Hong Kong: It's not port size (8), but low supply levels preventing rearming of BB Hyuga.

According to my calculations I need to turn off just 20 points of my Ha-5/1000
factories and run the rest full speed. Got it.

Makes sense. Good idea. I'll fix it.

I changed one of the armaments factories to vehicle but there's a lag
while the facdtory repairs itself. But I can increase it again to 225,
no problem.

I've got a shipment of supplies headed for Hong Kong to fix that problem.

The number of Ha-5/1000 engines in the pool dropped from 520 to 511 in one turn so I need to produce about 350
engines from the factories I have available and the rest can be shut off or diverted to another engine.

Here's me accellerating a lot of CV's and DD's. I need both kinds of ships and now with the subs not building
there's enough points to accellerate a lot of ships so I thought I'd do it. There's points for more yet.

According to this Tracker report the home islands are losing almost everything except supply which is on the rise
again finally. That means there's a shortfall in oil and RES STILL. Even after I've tinkered with the routes.
I'll have to find more efficiency from the routes or something.

A support TF including but not limited to 5 AKE's and I'm thinking of distributing them thusly: one to Malaya's
east coast somewhere, Singkawang when I get it, Balikpapan, and Palembang when I get it. That'll do for now.
I don't expect Singapore to fall for at least a month yet. Maybe longer. I'm aiming for sometime in April.

A small SCTF landed at Rabaul just now and they needed a tune-up in the shipyard overnight, or in
a couple of cases several days. A new coat of paint and change the oil and we're good as new.

Submarines vulnerable convoy this one, Larry, considered its value..

And some consideration should be given even when these valuable ships disbanded at destination in their ports, if them in range of enemy's known air threat.

The pool level last turn for the Ha-5/1000 was 511 and now it's 514 so the production rate is just about right.
Now to fix the levels for the other engines as well.
