Hey, I think it's annoying to have to select reference points or targets before adding a mission and then having the game complain about my bowtie-shaped patrol areas, with an annoying pop-up.
How about all missions starting as inactive and not activating until you click "OK" somewhere?
That way, you wouldn't have to select reference points or targets before adding the mission and the game wouldn't have to display annoying warning pop-ups until you click "OK" to actualize the mission.

To re-iterate: when adding a Patrol mission, I almost always get a pop-up complaining about my patrol area being invalid, which is quite annoying. How about giving the player a chance to fix this before displaying the pop-up and instead moving this warning to when the player closes the ME widow or, as I suggested above, changing how mission adding works altogether, so players have to "confirm" missions before they are actualized (which would be the time to display warnings).

Thanks, what are your own thoughts on this?

How bout diving into the manual a little more? You're seriously missing some things and your experience will be much better by doing that.

While these messages are weird the problems they solve are significantly greater and you'll notice they've been around some time with no complaints. If you still think this is a major to do please add it to the wish list string so players can vote on it. This will give a better sense of priority and value to the devs.

You can avoid most of those issues by using the cntrl-right click and select define areas. You can build squares or circles that won't get flagged.

Mike

Well, I still have to select reference points (whether they're in the correct order or not) and targets before adding a mission, which is counter-intuitive to me. Compared to opening the ME dialog and THEN telling it what points the mission is supposed to pertain to. It's only a suggestion though. Perhaps if ME is made more steam-lined in the future it could be relevant.

When you use the drop function they're automatically selected and everything else is deselected.

Please read the manual and give it a shot. If you still hate it post it on the wish list to help the devs get a sense of how important it is to players.

Thanks

Mike

There was a recent discussion that pointed out the importance of correct polygons, hence the popup. Eases support considerably by reducing user errors.

I don't think you're listening Guess I'll put it on the wishlist.
When I use the "drop" function what is exclusively automatically selected? This seems to have no relevance to anything I wrote.
I've read the manual and this is not described anywhere in it. Because it's not in the game. I'm making a suggestion to streamline mission adding, by making a pop-up appear when the player attempts to exit the ME instead of entering it, thus not requiring you to select points or targets before entering the ME to begin with. Which is strange. You're not creating a mission and designating targets. You're designating targets and creating a mission, etctera.

No I'm listening to you but I'm also detecting you don't really have much experience with it. This does not mean your suggestions aren't valuable and sorry if you felt that way.

Best to put it on the wishlist. If players or devs think it is a good one they'll push it.

Thanks

Mike

Some people play with the Mission Editor open for the duration of the scenario, so having the Popup show on close probably isn't such a good idea?
