I'll probably watch some more let's plays and look for a few reviews

I am not trying to discourage you at all, just an attempt at perspective. I understand you are looking for intel on which to base a decision for purchase. I have only watched a few 'Let's Plays' and they have been poorly done by people with obviously little experience and knowledge in the game. I think they just like to post videos. Reviews are usually by jealous and/or disgruntled folks who twist things out of reality.
Good Luck!

I can't agree totally. Steve Still did some YouTube videos on TAOW 3 that would be useful for newbies with TOAW IV.

Well, I broke down pretty quickly from the recent live stream, and TOAW is now mine. Even if there's a few technical issues (see my threads in the tech support forum), the price was totally reasonable for a new title that will probably last for many years to come.

Haha, that is me ! To clarify what I said, I referred to 'Let's Plays' and 'Reviews' being not of much help, I was not referring to Tutorials. Therefore, I was not referring to the Tutorials by Steve [me], because I can say that those are excellent and even TOAW pros have learned from them

Yes, I found them extremely helpful as a refresher. I can also recommend Bob Cross' UI tutorial, available as a PDF.

I dumped them in Dropbox...

https://www.dropbox.com/s/q81u16jfj6d2z7i/TOAW%20Tutorial.zip?dl=0

Remember, they are from the 3.4 days, but explain most of the basics of units capabilities, etc. I am working on an updated version - refer to the mods/scenario section.

Klink, Oberst

Hi all,

The videos have been replaced! Now the mouse should be visible again. Please, keep use the same link to reach the playlist although the specific links to each video are now different.
Regards

Note: The people at Matrix are doing the best that they can with a difficult situation. These days we the public don't have the patience to read manuals and learn stuff from one game to the next, and we expect everything to be easy and intuitional.

I agree! These days I have no more time, I'm allways in a hurry for something... but sometimes I have to stop. Relax. That's why I bought games :D

Thanks for redoing those. I watched all three last night and they helped refresh my memory of how to play this.
