Seems to me the easiest way to deal with such events is to put an infantry unit there for every two to three hexes to cover. Let's say your units are entrenched and you don't want to give that up. If I see it correctly, once they've achieved their highest state of defense allowable in the battle, you can then switch their mode to advance, and their state will be 'advance' and 'entrenched'.
So let's say you have three objective hexes to cover. Stat6ion one infantry unit in the hex most centered and closest to the general direction of the enemy. If a truck comes pst during opfire it is VERY LIKELY slain since it will be adjacent to the infantry no matter which hex it tires to take. Sure, it may die in the hex and thereby take it, so that's when you move the infantry in player turn, which will be very easy, assuming you have it in CC, with orders, and hopefully it's objective in the direction of the uncovered hexes, which in this case would be in a retreat direction from the general attack, since you are in the hex closest to that attack.
From what I've seen of battles in general you could send in 6 trucks, take all but the hex the infantry is in, maybe (assuming the infantry doesn't slay them before they get to their hex or hexes to take), and then the infantry moves, merrily taking those hexes right back, and though movement would lose defensive benefits, we are talking about a truck attack, right? It's not like the infantry has anything to fear.
