Status: offline 		The Island is clear for at least 10 hexs north of the Bridge...I spotted a Ammo Truck, a HT and a MkIII guarding my left flank as I try to get into some open ground.

Arnhem Bridge still seems so far away!:(

Status: offline 		This turn I reinforced my bridgehead on the island and start to fall back a hex or two to re-group. I have a wild mix of Brit armor, US AB, Polish AB, and 1 nuke:eek:

My first ever wargame was Panzer Leader... May 1975! My mom got it for me as a Birthday Gift....

After that ...I dont remember much. I moved onto Squad Leader...
Ahhhhhh yes...[B]SQUAD LEADER, good ol' ASL![/B], If I had to guess I would say I designed over 500 scens for SL all for self-play or vs. my Good friend Don (Aberdeen pics). Then all the Historical ASL mods!
Was/is there a god? I must have played a few hundred of those battles.

the there was "Battle of the Bulge" :eek: !!! Momma!

But!!! my all time favorite boardgame was "The Longest Day" by AH...man what a game!

I played these games year after year! until....the PC!

Enter the PC! I wont go through the history...but let me say that the best PC game makers are...

EA Games

Status: offline 		After a breather the might of XXX Corps and the US airborne spread out and ready themselfs for the final push to Arnhem...On the left a lone German Ht holds (did) the flank..A Brit SPAAA gun puts him out of action..besides a Brave (stupid) Panzer crew foolishly fireing on a 82nd AB Thompson squad...guess who won:rolleyes: ;)

Status: offline 		guys, reading this thread is great fun - seieng how 2 people are playing a PBEM I am also involved in - I guess as the German I now have knowledge of how the Allies are composed!!! Guess my opponent has also been reading this.

Jess, this PBEM is superb - when I saw you had done Market Garden I just had to see the map - puts my limited attempts really to shame but just wait til I devise a map for the German invasion of Britain (from Norway to Newcastle and the down)

Me (Germans) and BruttoBob (Allies) are in this PBEM too. We are now at turn 12 or so: the XXX Corps has been able to rush north without much problems, has already taken Eindhoven and is now attacking Veghel. At Grave, an early attempt by paratroopers to take the bridge was succesfully beaten off, inflicting heavy casualties on the attackers.
At Nimwegen city no trace of the 82nd airborne while German armor is sweeping it's drop zone.
Near Groosbeck, fighting between German Stug's and American paras.
At Arnhem, the German have managed to push the Red Devils completely out of the town to the west, where heavy fighting rages in the woods. In the meantime, German reinforcements move freely accross the bridge to the south.
A great game so far!

it almost followed history!:rolleyes:

XXX Corps was down to next to nothing! I had mabe a platoon of tanks and a re-inforced company of mixed US,Brits and Poles. I was in the "Island" and just could not get through with these weak units. I am not sure (read below) what Hawk had left with his SS, but I feel he was weak also.

Sorry dude but the battle report screen on my end came up with all zeros for kills...I hope yours works and you can give some numbers.

Great Battle Hawk! It goes in my "book"!
