I'll let you know if I find anymore. On another note. I think it was the month of April that the Allies can launch Doolittle. Now that we are into May does that mean the threat of carrier borne land bombers has passed for good? I expect it has but am looking for confirmation.

The Allied carriers are still lurking. Not sure if they are testing the waters, actively looking for Kaga and company or just sailing around staying a safe distance from LBA and seeing what they can catch.

A most tantalizing report about what may possibly be holed up at Colombo. If there is truth to this report I would pick Prince of Wales as being the ship. Surprising if it is but it was damaged some months ago and perhaps Colombo was the destination. Perhaps it will set sail overnight. Perhaps it is just a misleading sighting report.

I'll let you know if I find anymore. On another note. I think it was the month of April that the Allies can launch Doolittle. Now that we are into May does that mean the threat of carrier borne land bombers has passed for good? I expect it has but am looking for confirmation.

Correct - the Doolittle Raiders arrive 04/01/42 and withdraw 04/30/42. Unless Mundy accepts the PP drain, the Emperor should be safe.

Thanks LST. With the Allied carriers currently way down south the threat to the Home Islands is minimal at present.

And sadly, for me, Furutaka goes down attempting to make it back to Rabaul. The Allies won’t know this, but that carrier visitation was enough to cause me to order Furutaka out of port and back to sea for a couple of days. I was loth to have her sunk at port but in the end a couple of days at sea was too much for her and she is now lost. 1/8 of my heavy cruiser force is now gone – I am going to have to be wiser in their use but then again….

Truk is a possibility. I'm inclined to think that a raid is the less likely of the options open to Ed at present. If raiding was on the cards Rabaul would have been a good target. What Ed, hopefully, won't be aware of is the desperate need of rest that the Zeros on board Kaga and friends are in need of. They were about to do just that when the Allied carriers put in an appearance so instead of resting they got a bonus 2 extra days of flying just in case a Rabaul raid was on the cards. They are busy resting west of Truk at present. Junyo and the repaired Shoho and racing to join them. The KB itself has just made dock at Singapore and will spend 4 days repairing before heading east. If Ed is planning on doing something with his carriers I should think it will be very soon as KB will turn up on a couple of weeks.

Wake Island is the location that I would expect the Allies to turn up to next. I can't hold it and losing it will exert considerable pressure upon me.

So, you have taken Yenan, crushed the Chicoms and changed world history . Nice, I would have expected far more efforts required to beat the 8th Route Army and its monster divisions.

Also taking no chances at Palembang, attacking with overwhelming force. Looks like overkill, a less timid approach might have captured the base earlier. But little damage and the Dutch faithfully continued stockpiling oil for you, so in the end the outcome isn't too bad either.

Your attack on Ceylon and the early Allied counter-offensive in the Marshalls - well, purpose of the mod was to make it harder for Japan to expand farther than the historic perimeter and to slow / delay the Allied counter-attack. Looks like I failed here, at least I hope it's more of a challenge.

Did you notice any more issues that need fixing, like LCU TOE errors, ship upgrade errors etc.? Am still working on the 'final' version.

Getting supply into sieging forces at Yenan and surrounding the bases to cut off supply were the key factors at Yenan. I did wonder how well supply would get through but there always seemed to be enough to keep all units stocked. Sian is the next objective and that should demonstrate if this route is a folly or not. Throw in aerial bombing and Yenan has issues even with those monster divisions. In the end my bombardments were delivering good results each day. Still it has cost me a few divisions now behind the lines licking their wounds and steadily rebuilding many, many disabled squads. I will be pleased to have them back in the fray.

Those civilian units fooled me at Palembang. It does take some getting used to the Allies have many units turning up via reconn reports only to later find that they are hapless civilians. Sabang may well be the same story. And yes in the end Palembang was over kill but I didn't want to be caught out facing numerous AV equipped units behind higher forts than the fort level I did encounter. Very pleasing to get the place in the condition it is in even if late.

As for game being more difficult. It is! I shall have to report on the industry side of things more but it is a delicate thing keeping industry fed and troops on the move. I have ongoing issues with keeping enough resources flowing into the Home Islands as ships which should be transporting resources have been tied up transporting troops. I have just reorganised shipping at Singapore and 120 000+ capacity has now been diverted to resource transport. The India Adventure may well become hamstrung by supply but that will not become apparent until Ceylon is subdued and the invasion of the mainland commences.

The Marshalls was an obvious choice once KB was committed to India. As it appears that many of the major RN ships have teamed up with the USN KB is enroute to the show down in the Pacific. Those newly won bases in the Marshalls are already a headache with a number of submarines sniffing around Truk.

I do have a minor ship upgrade query but will post that when I am back on the main computer.

Finally in response to slowing the Japanese advance. I think the jury is still out on that one. The Allies have pulled back and continue to do so when threatened. I have to go after them to keep pressure on even though it is stretching things. If I wasn't in India I would be having a big problem trying to work out how to tackle Rangoon. Supply is a big issue in Burma. I feel that the best way to approach this monster is to take Madras and Calcutta and then attempt to move on Rangoon once Calcuuta is a secure base for my forces to operate out of. If I get Calcutta things will become interesting in Burmas.

One for you LST. This class of ship is due for first upgrade which I will do once Singapore clears some dockyard space. I looked it over but it seems that there is no difference from the 12/41 model to the 05/42 upgrade. Maybe I am missing something.
