Great Game, Great Design Game Team, Great Community...
So I decided to publish my first scenario about a town story you maybe know: Leningrad.
Small scenario whithout pretentions, 500 pts, 50 turns.
As it's the first, do not hesitate to be nasty, I like to have new friends...

The great city of Leningrad was being strangled, its people dying by the thousands. The Germans had been blockading the city since the first week of September, 1941. However, the city was not entirely cut off. Supplies were still coming in on a haphazard basis on a rail line through the city of Volkhov. To totally cut off the city, Hitler planned to send his forces across the Volkhov River. Once that was accomplished it would effectively cut all lines of supply to Leningrad. The Red Army's savage counterattacks all across the Volkhov River left a very large butcher's bill to keep the lines of supply open to Leningrad.

Paste the Leningrad1.xml file in C:\Matrix Games\Panzer Command Ostfront\Data\Scenarios
Enjoy and don't talk about it to Zakblood!

Played it for the first time last night. Took the Axis side against the AI. Not sure how the Soviets can win, but will try their side next. Had fun playing it anyway. Thanks Again.

Thanks for your feedback, Alan.
Me too when I saw the balance of power in favor of the Germans I was skeptical about the balance of power.
However, the majority of German troops are regular while Soviet troops are elite.
Anyway I am ready to modify the forces in the scenario to make it balance.
I'm waiting for your opinion or those interested to update the scenario.
Thanks.

I also chose to play German vs Russian AI. When I started, the German forces looked pretty strong. So perhaps I was a bit reckless. Its Turn 22 now and I have managed to lose almost my entire assault force. I have one of the Captured T34's left, though it has been immobilized. I only have about two platoons of infantry. If not for the artillery, I would be in even worse shape. My 150mm art has broken up a couple of counter attacks.

My game ended on Turn 25 with a Decisive defeat at the hands of Russian AI.

Thanks for making this!

3-Open Game Menu, Click on Map Maker
4-1000x1000 enter
5-In browser Name at bottom search Mapmaker.xml in Desperates Measures file in C:\Matrix Games\Panzer Command Ostfront\Media
6-Build the map with maj+buildicon
7-Process between 5-30 minutes, depend of processor power
8-You can play Desperates Measures

Thanks

Hi Rico, I played Russian several times. I was too aggressive the first couple times and was out fought by the German T-34s. Then I decided just to set up ambushes after eliminating the Germans on the left. Plus using smoke to screen my side.
Then I got a legenday victory without even taking the flag in the German town.

I did find one anomoly that I may have to talk to Rick about. That is during setup you can move a unit outside the setup zone into the setup zone and then you are free to move it anywhere in the setup zone. I don't know if scenario designers were aware of this.

Most scenarios I've seen are all or nothing with the setup zones. They place all their units in the zones or don't use them.

Sorry for delay in responding. I'm currently on the road and have spotty interent access.

I have made some progress with Map Maker in removing the links to Google Maps that had stopped working.

When I get back off the road, we will look at what we need to do, how to proceed, but yes, I think it's possible we might see an expansion module for PCO. Mobius and I have been slowly working on one. (very slowly you could say).

Thanks
Rick

I still play PCO regularly. Hope there will be further patches/expansion pack. One thing I would like to suggest: what about adding a feature to let the player know the size of the set battle in the description/intel section? This will help the player decide whether to play a large battle the whole Friday night or some some skimirsh battles. Thanks in advance.

By size do you mean amount of points or number of units?

Scenario designers could certainly include that information in their description and it sounds like it would be a good addition.

In the meantime, there is a gauge in the Battle Selection Screen that give an indication, though I don't recall if the complexity is based on points or number of units.

Maybe it will help.

Thanks
Rick

OK, it works in most cases. I was checking some test maps I just made. You have to have text in the scenario description for it to work. In my test maps this was blank.
