FOW error during replay playback in Multi-player V1.14

At first I thought my eyes must be deceiving me, but I have several two player PBEM++ games going (all 1939 scenario), and I have definitely seen the following errors during playback on occasions (guestimate 10% of times):-

1. The FOW is reversed so I can see all my opponents units but none of mine unless within 2 hexes of an enemy unit,

2. Even if during playback the FOW is correctly assigned, I cannot see my unit if it is attacked and destroyed that turn, so that the enemy units appear to be attacking an empty space.

3. Incidentally, again about 10% of playbacks, I get a 'sound error' and crash to desktop. The solution to this is to set Music and Sound to zero in Settings and reload the file from PBEM++

I play on my home PC at weekends and on a laptop if away with work during the week.

In all cases these are PBEM++ games, and of all the five games have shown this error at least once, but I don't know if my opponents are switching computers also.

I'm certain the incidents have happened when consecutive turns have been on the same computer.

Are you copying over the saved dat files from one computer to the next when switching computers?

Thanks for the references, Christolos.

No, I have not been copying the .dat files. I was unaware of their existence or indeed their importance.

So would this explain the incorrect allocation of FOW also?

I'm still convinced I've seen this happen even when I've played 2-3 consecutive turns on the same device.

I'll report back when it happens again.

Is your opponent also playing on two different computers/devices?

I'm not sure, but this might explain why the replay gets corrupted even though you may be playing 2-3 consecutive turns on the same device. i.e., the corrupted replay could be coming from the opponents turn too

In any case, you will definitely get corrupted playbacks showing weird things, including FOW corruption, if you don't copy over and use the most recent .dat file (from the most recently played on device) when playing the next turn on a different device.

Yes, I believe some of my opponents are swapping devices to play for the same reasons as I am.

In any case, the 'inverted FOW' is not really a major issue since I have only seen portions of the map where my units are attacked and in most cases I knew what enemy units were coming my way anyway. It's not as if I see enemy units moving at the far side of the map. Perhaps I would though if I had a U-boat sitting outside New York harbour and it was attacked!
