hasty then claims the rr hex.

woo hooo. we did it.

yes we have put our tanks in horrible position to start a blizzard.

We move unit into vacant hex.

Orders come down from above. Hold at all cost. Hold at all cost.

Final Leningrad position before the blizzard. My rr snakes all the way into the middle of the panzer pack.

It should get very tight very soon.

Hold at all cost!

stalino

rr is still too far away from front. I will try and anchor at Stalino and delay flank attacks.

surprised you didn't attempt to storm Rostov to at least take it before winter. With a good leader, engineers and Artillery a 6 factor soviet stack should have been easy for 3 stacks of Germans to move with no river issues. Yes it shows 80 but that doesn't mean much for soviets in 1941.

I might have but the extra army group award needs the other towns across the river. Thus "a river to far" And tanks really did not have good supply fuel levels

Way too agressive in the North in my opinion. Looks like a disaster waiting to happen.

I was thinking the same in the North, I would have pulled back last turn.

Not sure why cutting the rail area is important, as it will easily be repaired?

Agreed. There is a good chance he will lose all the units that drove north to Leningrad unless he immediately starts evacuating on the first turn of blizzard.

Looking forward to seeing the next turns...but panzers in woods are still going to be tough to move even in blizzard.

Isolated in blizzard against calvary corps and possibly mountain units it will be tough, even in forest.

doubt he will be isolated the next turn...maybe after several turns of soviet attacks depending on what he does.

The main advantage of cutting and hold that rail line is it should burn up soviet trucks in the blizzard supporting the Leningrad side.

Damn Brian those are some massive cojones you have there!

The manpower and appreciable force needed to break that wall of steel would be a darn hefty obstacle to gain advantages from
Without a critical K.O on pocketing that lovely prize it would likely only results in lots of dead commies, Axis AFV, a small ammount of buffer hexes for 42 and some relieved stress on logistics so not sure if that would be the best place to hedge my bets if I was Soviets tbh
May well be nail stuff biting if HL goes for it though and if it can be pulled off quickly or Brian makes a mistake then it's game over

Good luck Herr Brian, winter is coming!

Dec 41 open. Here ya see Russian action on last snow turn.

They really tried to tire out my tanks and took heavy losses in soak attacks

I launch my first snow attack to push back that 2-5 inf unit.

And proceed to lose. I should have done a bombing first

Final north positions. I push up units to 2 divisions per hex at the head. Can we hold?

I bring up tank units from Stalino to bolster the right picket line forming in front of the rr junction.

ya not sure pushing extra divisions more north was the answer.....this next turn I can see at least a couple hexes along that corridor that the soviets should take...this turn was to burn german supply right before the blizzard huge reduction in supply deliveries....so some of those units will get pretty big negative CV shifts on the next soviet turn.
