So, since PL was formed, only twice has a team led between Xmas and New Years and NOT won the title.
It was Liverpool both times.
The latest results...
This is not good on my nerves
warspite1

Is this right? What about Newcastle in 1995/96?

Seems you are right, seems the norwegian papers have not done proper research.

Have to say this Association Football thing is really pretty good - I defy anyone to point to any posts where I have said anything to the contrary.

At the other end of the scale ... and the country, its been a big weekend in Highlands football.

Brora (pop 1100 - and the biggest town close to where I work) are now top of the Highland league and the world famous 'Kessock Bridge' Derby ended 2-2 in the Scottish Cup
warspite1

Ah the Kessock Bridge derby - always one of the highlights of the season....

I must echo the sentiments vis-a-vis Association Football. Great night at Wembley last night with my eldest little cruiser!

I have to say the Dortmund supporters (seated just to our right) were incredible. I hope we can generate that sort of noise at our new 'wall'. The away section was just a yellow and black cacophony of sound and colour. The drummers, the flags, the almost constant singing and chanting, the bouncing up and down in unison - really, really impressive. I also think that when the three minute silence broke into applause (in memory of Gordon Banks and Emiliano Sala) it was the German fans that started it. Nice touch.

3-0. Spurs being Spurs, the tie is far from over. With two away goals we were favourites to go through against Juventus last season but somehow Spurseyed that up so I can't say I'm confident. But let's just enjoy it while we can - for two more weeks anyway. And all sing:
"Super, super Jan,
super, super Jan,
super, super Jan,
Super Jan Vertonghen!
What a performance from the Belgian. He really worked well with Toby to nulify Sancho in the second half - and what a goal and assist!!

Will Sir Harry be able to force his way back in the team when he's fit?

Why do you have to bring up that pathetic excuse for a game? Its ridiculous, I mean this is a war gaming forum and for some reason known only to the complete arse head who started it, a thread is devoted to this moronic, childish game.

Anyway, whateves, I've always supported Brora Rangers FC.....

Dudgeon Park, it's like the new White Hart Lane, only finished.

and after the match you can wander down to the beach to watch the seals ...

A Spurs' supporting friend of mine emailed me a few weeks back to share his latest angst. His analysis then was Harry comes back early, disrupts the team, gets injured trying to hard, we crash out in Dortmund after conceeding 3 in the first 15 mins and then the new WHL burns down due to an accident with a cheese fondue.

At the time I accused him of over-doing it ... now I think he clearly had inside information

Well my prediction on this forum many months back was that the stadium would start crumbling as they used cheap cement or some such. So problems with aggregate or problems with cheese fondue? Who knows, where Spursey are concerned I'd believe anything.

COYBR!!

Is this some kind of use of the English language with which I am not familiar?

re Premier League, it is clear (to me aka subjective stuff) Ole has to be manager of the year. Impressive what he's accomplished

A little push would be appreciated. If they defeat City in april, they might give Liverpool FC the title*

The new football season has begun. After three cup matches we are through to the cup quarter-final.

Although we advanced in the cup I do think the team has a lot to improve. The teams beaten in the cup was from one division lower and the results were not impressive. Two 1-0 wins, and one 1-1 draw.

Congratulations to advancing to the quarter finals.

Now the tension increases. Any team that makes it this far can go to the final. And who knows what can happen then? Can the team keep their nerves under control, and make their best performance yet?

Really would love Liverpool to take the EPL this season... they just haven't won it since 89-90! It's about time.

Yes, desesperate and overwhelmed. The Real Madrid is a battlefield righ now.
The hard discussions (and insults) in the dressing room are narrated in the journals, it has been eliminated in three competitions in one week: King´s cup (by the Barcelona), La Liga (by the Barcelona again!) and Champions League. It has the worst scores from 1940... The horror, the horror.
Now the final monster in the nightmare: MOU.

And yet many would kill to have your so-called problems. Three Champions League titles in a row A football "expert" on this thread had said you were "overrated" [rofl] the year you went on to win the second or third, I can't remember exactly. Hilarious.

Whatever, first world problems no doubt Good luck and may you dodge this bullet and choose Zidane instead or any other guy who will not park a luxurious bus aka unwatchable football.

This is funny - Spuds beating City in April ??? I'm a Reds supporter but I cannot see Spurs beating City, I think LFC have done a right bottlejob of the title race

I was thinking about ManU (I was mentioning their coach, Ole). I just googled it, if Spurs want to defeat them too... no problem with that.

I agree it's going to be complicated (LFC bagging the title) but...

Yeah, the legend comes back... with a checkbook and freedom to hire new players.

By the way in this forum, a survey was made in Spain about English teams (which ones are most famous among the spanish supporters)

1.Liverpool
2.Manchester United
3.Manchester City (Guardiola´s team)
4.Tottenham (the "team of Kane", the most famous english player here)

Sorry, Arsenal, Chelsea...
