Turn 26. Nov/Dec 1943. Allied #12.

Actions.

US - combine. They have a couple of land moves they want to make in Turkey and Southern France. More importantly, they have plans for picking up the 1st marine division and invading Tinian in the Mariana island chain. However, this will require that the USN sink, or abort, the Japanese supply convoy working the Bismarck Sea. Also, the USN will need to put out their own supply convoy in order to ensure the 1st marine division is well supplied once, and if it, lands.

CW - naval. Need to replace the 4 lost CP's (1 sunk) in Cape St. Vincent and 5 lost CP's (3 sunk) in the Faeores Gap.

Free France - combine.

China - land. Keep pressuring Japanese supply lines.

USSR - land. Central Front will keep pushing West and cutting/stressing supply lines to Army Groups North and Center. In the South, push were practical and it makes sense into the Caucuses.

There's a 60% chance that this will be the last impulse of the turn so the allies are free to be a bit bolder than they normally are. However, there's a 40% chance that the turn will continue so they can't be reckless.

We start this impulse with the on-going Battle of the Atlantic.

Western Allies. Atlantic. Cape St. Vincent. German U-boat intercept/attempt.

Here's the current status of all IJN surface combat ships. They have three aircraft carriers (2 CV's, 1 CVL) on the map, but all three are only 1 plane capacity. They have 3 carriers (2 CV's & 1 CVL) in the repair pool. The Akagi (in the repair pool) is the only large fleet carrier the Japanese have left.

CVs are for carrying the fight in to the waters of the Enemy. They are not as cost effective on the defense compared to land based air, particularly with the silly rule allowing multiple planes on them.

The trick to defending Japan�s sea lanes late in the war is to empty their FTR pool and scrapping their mid-war design failures when lost, so only the best models are re-built. The worst models can garrison Korea for a time, until they inevitably get sucked in to combat around the home waters of Japan.

How can Japan get a large air force into high sea boxes and out to advantageous bases on their ever shrinking perimeter? By taking an oft-overlooked Air impulse.

Use Oil. Western Allies. Oil is not as plentiful for the Western Allies as it should be (i.e., as they're use to having it).
