If both of you update to 1.0.3, we don't think there will be a problem continuing your PBEM game. However, if the game you are playing is worth playing--you guys are having fun--then I would avoid the possibility of a spoiled game and keep on playing with 1.0.2. IMO, the following two items change the way the game plays: - Units can now move across an enemy ZOC - Multiple Ground Assets in a battle were incorrectly being reduced in the same way as multiple ground support air missions. The ZOC change makes the game play more like boardgames that allow mechanized units to move through enemy zones of control if they have sufficient movement points (like Europa: Fire in the East/Scorched Earth). Generally, this change should favor the Allies as most of their units are armor/motorized. The commitment of multiple ground assets to a single battle--at full strength--is a dramatic change as well. Here's what was happening: "Ground Support effectiveness decreases with the number of units added. The strongest air asset attacks using 100% of its ground attack value. The next strongest air asset attacks at 50% effectiveness. The next attacks at 33% effectiveness. The next attacks at 25% effectiveness, etc." p.67 DW Game Manual So if the player had committed Command Ground Assets with the following shifts: +3, +2, +1, and +1 In version 1.0.2, the actual shifts applied to the battle would be +4.58 shifts (3*1.00 + 2*.50 + 1*.33 = 1*.25). With the fix in 1.0.3, the shifts applied would be +7. It depends on the scenario, but generally speaking I would say this fix favors the attacker.
