Biggest surprise in the PLA Parade:

DF-17 Hypersonic Glide Vehicle

GJ-11 Attack Drone (formerly "Sharp Sword") - it even got stealth nozzles now! Updated with a better shot on its rear.

WZ-8 Hypersonic Recon Drone

HSU-001 Unmanned Underwater Vehicle

DF-100 Strategic Supersonic Cruise Missile

And of course; the DF-41 ICBM

Finally we see the YJ-12A anti ship missiles mounted on the refitted PLAN Sovremenny DDG.
The size difference compared to the Moskit is huge! I bet they would have no problems fitting them with double the number of YJ-12s.

Yes, most likely, and the DB3K database will also continue to be used in the future.

The other "classified" function of PHASER should be probably anti-riot/"freedom fighter" swarms.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Active_Denial_System
Quote on the Popular Mechanics article :
quote:

There may be other benefits other than anti-drone screens, but no one is talking about them publicly. “PHASER also has other applications that can be utilized for defensive purposes,” Sullivan admits. “I can't get into other applications outside of counter UAS because of classification reasons. We're not clear to discuss that at the moment.”

This looks to be a 4 part analysis of how Australia might use their F-35s:

https://www.realcleardefense.com/articles/2019/10/22/projecting_power_with_the_f-35_114803.html

Also gets into the geographic challenges of fighting in the region.

And today a very long read on ASW and sensors from the Cold War:

https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/30525/confessions-of-a-submarine-hunting-s-3-viking-crewman-during-the-twilight-of-the-cold-war

Well written.

CCTV do forgot to report this particular drone during the Military Parade for 70th China Anniversary. FX-500 UAV is kinda like a smaller version of WJ-600 jet-powered UCAV, but designed for ELINT and electronic countermeasures:
