Status: offline 		We are getting murdered at work. Way, WAAAY too many people with significant fevers for mid March but we still don't have enough f****** testing capacity. Our lab contractor, Quest now has internal Covid-19 testing, thereby bypassing the f****** useless CDC, but we don't have enough of the f****** green-top vials they require the specimen be submitted in. Why don't we have enough? Well, because one of the f****** administrators decided to have a f****** drive-thru testing station today and she took all the f****** green-top vials. So now all the f***-wit neurotics who THINK they have C-19 will use up all the testing capacity while the obviously sick patients already screened by experienced professionals can't get a f****** test.

That is what you call f****** FUBAR.

Status: offline 		The **** is all over the place I am pretty sure but it is hard to distinguish from other viruses. I am seeing quite a bit of conjunctivitis with subsequent respiratory symptoms and fever. This might be C-19 but might also be adenovirus. A bit late for adenovirus but ****...you can't tell for sure. Many patients seem sick enough to have influenza but they are testing negative. Seems bloody suspicious to me. I am giving everyone a week off school but it seems likely all the big school districts will shut down next week anyway. Two weeks too late if you ask me.

Status: offline 		Then you have the local health departments. Even in good times, you tend not to attract the brightest bulbs to county health departments but they seemed DELIBERATELY stupid. When they still offered the PRETENSE of containment they would refuse all testing even whole families with high fevers and travel to Pakistan, for eg. Why would you not test? It's the ABSOLUTE ESSENTIAL F****** KEY to isolation and containment.

I now realize they had already given up on containment because they lacked adequate and timely testing and had now switched over to "flattening the curve" but didn't have the f****** stones to admit it. I had it hear it from f******* Governor Newsom who publicly complained there were only 500 kits in all of California.

He stood there with his fabulously hair-sprayed helmet head and spilled the beans before somebody got to him and told him to shut up

Status: offline 		I think we may be a week away from a Wuhan or Lombardy style lockdown. If you haven't got your 380 rolls of toilet paper yet you may be screwed but I have a suggestion. Just order the new york times. For like $3.80 a week they will DELIVER the TP to your door.

I once got Delhi Belly in a shopping centre in Chennai. I discovered that the public toilets don't have bog roll. Just a bucket and a tap (fawcett?). No flush either. I worked this out after my activities. I also discovered that I can wash my backside with my hand perfectly well when needs must.

Status: offline 		I am having extraordinarily vivid dreams. I think it's this virus thing. I had a dream I was driving parallel to a another highway near dusk and the silhouettes of large trees lining the highway were slowly passing by, mostly eucalyptus in sepia colors with a lighter dusk sky behind. Went on forever. Very peaceful and beautiful. Looked like Santa Barbara or maybe Salinas.

Anxiety dreams too. One where I was taking a shower at like a camp shower outdoors with 3 women and one guy nagging at me to get ready for dinner. I have no idea what that means. Probably the Jap carriers again.

Ceram/New Guinea/the Sundas: Kumano is NW of Dobo and will likely escape to the North. I try to slow them down with small surface combatants and PT boats and subs and let the USN cruiser force catch up....also to protect the landing craft unloading at Boela. Nobod really like the crew of Gemas anyway.
