The only good news about the pandemic is HBO is making some of the episodes of The Wire and Sopranos available for free. I never saw more than an episode of The Sopranos because I am a tight wad. El Nino Jesus y La Virgen, Maria! That thing is a work of art which rivals Breaking Bad.

My Uncle Joe passed away from COVID. He was in a nursing home in lockdown. He would not wear his hearing aids so he could not hear when his "kids" (my cousins) called. This makes me sad. I'm not sure this is the right societal decision even if it makes public health sense. It seems painfully utilitarian. His wife, my mom's twin passed away in 2019. His cards were up.

Sounds like Uncle Joe might have been a feisty character! Sorry to hear of his loss from such a horrible, sneaky disease. RIP Uncle Joe. May the kids you couldn't hear continue to talk of you for years to come!

I owe the IRS a check for $35K F****** parasites. I think a large portion is going to my stepson who gets $800 a week in unemployment from Virginia and a $1200 stimulus check. In fairness he does work hard but does he have to be so happy about it?

What does he work hard at?

Taxes: the price we pay for civilization. Want to know what a no-tax society looks like? Check out Somalia!

Only a small portion of your $35K goes to your stepson, who you seem to feel merits it, but nobody else does. 6% of federal expenditure is on welfare. Most of the budget is for health, education, defence and social security/pensions.
