I agree. I have often blamed it on my own incompetence but in other games of this nature � primarily the Combat Mission series � I have found that most battles become purely attritional; recon doesn�t really work, LOS seems to play by its own rules and sometimes the scale of the battlefield makes it feel like a knife fight in a phone booth. This is different. Recon assets are not cannon-fodder when used judiciously (well, not always), air is not overpowered and above all there just seems to be � literally � �room to maneuver�, i.e. the scale and the terrain seem to allow for the execution of tactics. My theory is that the 2-D graphics deliver much better potential for realistic, terrain-based fire and maneuver combat; I sometimes think that even great games with 3-D graphics just don�t have the computing headroom to deliver a realistic simulation of LOS combined with accurate scale. I am going to be playing AB for quite a while because it�s possible to execute a plan.

Have have made a long list of suggestions and feedback, and the next iteration will try to cram as much as possible of them in the engine, while keeping the elegance and accessibility of the current system!
