Currently FFG-818 Daegu(#3217) Frigate equipped with KM-SAM Block2(#3596), however KM-SAM was never mounted on a Vassel and KVLS System.
Daegu should be equip Haegung SAAM (SAAM-400K), is the current KM-SAM was a temporary measure due to lack of data of Haegung?

Haegung is a quad-pack system with four rounds in one KVLS Cell, using IIR/RF Dual Seeker for terminal guidance, capable to intercept supersonic ASM
Max range is 11~12nm/20km, sadly small amount of information is known but hopefully more information will be released in the near future because of ROKN keep purchasing/deploying SAAM for new coming vassel
also Mk31 RAM should be removed, Daegu Class only using Phalanx Block 1B for CIWS

Only Phalanx was installed above the heli hanger, no RAM

I've been playing with drones and detection ranges which has led to what I think is an outlier. The MQ-9B post 2016 can mount the Gorgon Stare (Sensor 3317, 3318, 3319, 3320). It can detect ground targets at ranges around 40nm. The only other system that is even close is the SR-71 / U-2. Most other modern drones have a detection range for the same targets of around 4 (four) nm.

So I did some digging and it seems Gorgon Stare's greatest selling point isn't that it can see out to 40nm, but it can track multiple targets at the same time using a massively powerful camera array. Realistically the benefit would be tracking quantity, as a single IR/EO head should/could only focus on one target at a time.

...

In a perfect world drones in CMO would go between search and monitoring and lose contact when switching from one target to the next. Then something like Gorgon Stare would really be exceptional as it could track dozens of targets at once.

...

Comparing the two I'm not sure what sets apart the Gorgon in the DB to make it look out so incredibly far. The regular AN/AAS-52 has a detection range of a normal drone.

I guess the tl;dr is Gorgon Stare = too awesome, range should be reduced to a more reasonable 6-8 nm.

The difference is the "Role: Infrared, Surveillance Camera" vs "Role: Infrared, Target Tracking and Identification FLIR"

The important thing is that, the Gorgon Stare is recording images of everything around it all the time, where a Target Tracking and Identification FLIR may not be looking in that direction. It's a matter of the operators and the software to detect an interesting target from all the uninteresting stuff that the Gorgon Stare captures, but the limits on how many targets at what resolution and framerate is more a matter of downlink bandwidth than it pointing in the right direction.

I found this document that talks about the capabilities of Gorgon Stare as well.

https://www.sto.nato.int/publications/STO%20Meeting%20Proceedings/STO-MP-SET-241/MP-SET-241-12B-3.pdf

PS: I do think you have a point in terms of how far ahead the Gorgon Stare can see. It's generally operated above the target area looking straight down at it, rather than from the side at a distance.

Can we get Cargo functionality for the CN-235

Also some passenger loadouts - according to Wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CASA/IPTN_CN-235

Capacity: 51 passengers, 35 paratroops, 18 stretchers or four HCU-6/E pallets including one on the ramp

FAS says 48 paratroops & 21 stretchers : https://fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ac/row/cn-235.htm

Air Force Tech agrees with FAS, states 57 PAX and has a photo of paratroops: https://www.airforce-technology.com/projects/cn-235-300/

Currently the only loads available are 4 ton and 6 ton both no-drop, but some loadouts should be paradrop

Best I can tell this affects DBID#
888
2132
3936
3935
3936
4393

BTW - DBID#2275 has the wrong photo associated with it

EDIT: just found this manual: https://fliphtml5.com/jjnr/fmeq/basic/51-67

Thanks a bunch

Can the EL/M-2106 ATAR radar for SPYDER-SR be added to Vietnam? They are the only nation in the DB with SPYDER-SR that is missing the radar.

Hi,
I have two things to report.

1- The target altitude for Sky Bow 3 missile doesn't make sense I haven't seen such range designation anywhere else so I think this is database mistake. From the image below you can see that the target range is from ~30km ASL to ~25km AGL.[image][/image]

2 - The target altitude for the Chinese SC-19 anti-satellite missile in the database is shown to be 30 km to 120km. That's doesn't make sense as that's still within the earth's atmosphere. The range should be in 100's of kilometers, with the SC-19 test reportedly destroyed satellite at an altitude of 850km.

#3223 SAM Bty (Patriot [PAC-2 GEM+, PAC-3 ERINT/MSE]) 6x Lnchr, LAMDIS
---
Issue - you end up with 16 LAMDIS radars\sensors, and I'm guessing that is not intentional (or is it??).

It stems from the fact one of the mounts use for this #3120 name:"Patriot M901" comment: "2004, PAC-2 GEM+ LAMDIS" is applied 4 times.
The DataMountSensors shows it has 4 entries for a #5987 LAMDIS sensor per mount so it's just doing what it's told.
Proposed change: I think there should only be 1 #5987 entry in DataMountSensors for mount #3120.
You'd still end up with 1 LAMDIS radar per mount, so in the case of that #3223 SAM Bty there will be 4, still overkill, but 4 is a lot less default waste than 16.

Alternatively and maybe a better resolution is remove the sensors entirely on that mount, and put 1 or 2 5987 LAMDIS's on the #3223 facility sensor list itself.

edit: Tweaks for clarity.

Any chance for having this looked at? I mean mostly the radar and TEL part. Thanks in advance.

ORIGINAL: x2oop

I've noticed that some data need a little correction though.

For example Sayaad-2 missile used by Talash, has now 120 nm range. The exact range is unknown, but it is classified by Iran as a medium range SAM. Most of analyses say that the Sayyad-2 has something like 75 - 80 km range.

quote:

In 2013, Iran unveiled the Sayyad-2 (“Hunter”), which is visibly evolved from the SM-1, and very fast with a maximum speed of Mach 4.5 and range of forty-six miles. It can be fired from the truck-mobile Talaash (“Endeavour”) and Khordad-15 air defense systems, which can engage six targets simultaneously.

Quote is from:
https://nationalinterest.org/blog/buzz/americas-stealth-weapons-can-iran-shoot-down-b-2-or-f-35-111376

Here are specs of Khordad-15 system using Sayyad-2 missile, it says engagement range is 75km:
https://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/iran/15th-khordad-specs.htm

If there is a need Talash can use also newer Sayyad-3 missiles with longer range reaching 120-150km. I believe this variant is called Talash-3. It might be added separately from the current 2015 variant.
https://warisboring.com/47047-2/
https://defense-update.com/20161229_sayyad-3.html
https://en.irna.ir/news/83134202/Range-of-Iran-s-Sayyad-3-missiles-to-increase
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sayyad-2#Sayyad-3

The last thigns are radars. Now Talash uses old radars from S-75. It seems that in real life it uses Kavosh and Ofogh fire control radar. I know there is no data for them, but I was able to find that we already have Kavosh in the game. It's a PAR radar from Iranian I-Hawk "Mersad upgrade". So if it is possible, please change Talash to use it, as it would make much more sense. Also according to some sources new variant of Talash can use Hafez 3D and Meraj-4 radars. I guess we already have Hafez, same as before, with Iranian I-Hawk "Mersad upgrade", so might be added to Talsh as well.

If you would like to add Meraj-4 radar in the future, in this article you can find very detailed specification (which is quite unusual to get for Iranian radars):
https://irangeomil.blogspot.com/2019/08/irans-bavar-373-profile.html

Other sources for Talash radars usage:
https://twitter.com/maysam21901/status/1059414218120880129
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talaash_air_defense_system

And explanation that Kavosh is also called PAR radar
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mersad#Radars

EDIT:

Also Talash should not use launch rails but TELs with 2-4 missiles per each.

Not sure if it's a DB issue or a stupidity on my side with settings in my system. Looking at the NL Rotterdam I cannot put all troops in due to max Mass. The cargo loadout gives 0.1 of 2.49 tons. In the DB it gives 2,488 tons. Realising the . and , differences on systems. If I'm to ask this question in another forum thread please let me now.
It also looks like her sister ship, the Spanish Galicia L51 has no capability on cargo and troops. (#831).
With Regards

Just happened across this while designing a scenario: it seems to me the USN SH-3D and SH-3H models should have a SAR load out available. I know its not a big thing but they were the primary SAR aircraft for US carriers for three decades

Hi,
I was setting up a UK Carrier Group centered around R08 HMS Queen Elizabeth when I noticed that there was no option to add boats to the ship. According to my research the ship can carry up to 3x Passenger_transfer_boats.

Could the database entry for the Queen Elizabeth class be updated to reflect the boats that the class carries! (and of course add the boats to the database)

I would post links to the Wikipedia page and manufacturers specifications but this is my first post and am not allowed! A Google for the following should allow you to see boats and specifications:
ALN 139 ‘PTB Buccaneer - HMS Queen Elizabeth Carrier’
HMS Queen Elizabeth (R08)

Thanks in advance.

First of all, the F-15SA in terms of sensors, it's no using the old AN/ALR-56C In fact it's using the Digital AN/ALR-56(v), a highly sensitive sensor with a Geo-location feature and, rapid detection with extended range. and digital jamming transmitter. I'm going to add BAE's file about the new RWR. Also further information about the system and DEWS in this video.

quote:

DEWS includes a digital RWR, digital jamming transmitter, ICS and an interference cancellation system.

it's can carry the SLAM-ER neither SDB, or CBU-105 and even GBU-54, and It's can carry more AAMs 16 missile and more combination of weapons thanks to adding Stations 1&9. also, I hope if you add the DB-110

The second thing is about PAC-2, PAC-3 and PAC-3MSE. All of them have the same target altitude 24000m. but PAC-3 has a more powerful duel-pulse motor to extend the range and altitude and off course more thrust.

and the same thing happened to KM-SAM. Its missile altitude 15000m but in fact, this altitude is for 40km range ballistic missile, and the maximum altitude is 20km. also, I have noticed that the radar has some issue with refreshing target data ( maybe because the radar is rotating? ) but the radar has a stopped mode. ( is it available and how to activate it ). and the missile using M/W seeker, not I Band as mentioned in the database.

Also, I noticed that the K30 Biho is only using 30mm twin guns, but the new version of k30 is using 4x missiles with 6km range

Finally, the Saudi F-15C/S APG-63/70 radars are limited by 30-+ degree, but in fact, the APG-63/70 radars have 60-+ degree.

Most SRBM/IRBM reloads have an ROF of "1" (DF-21D/DF-26, etc)

Can I suggest a reload with a ROF of 1800 to 3600 to account for loading onto TEL and targeting? As it stands now if you give a TEL a reload in in its magazines it just fires it in the first salvo one second later.
