Correct. I have always preferred pre-engineered building manufacturer in India as they use traditional, proper sized bricks.

The problem with PEZ is that, although they taste yummy, their size and sugar content makes them totally impractical for housing building and other construction projects.

Hi Alaindelon,

I live in a very parochial shire in New Zealand. We have very stringent building rules.

Would you be able to per-engineer for me a rhomboidal shaped building? The alternative would be a prolate spheriodalshape - you see we are just not allowed to have right angles. No, no, no.

Also, you need to stress the structure to carry some tons of dirt & vegetation on the roof; we have these very stringent environmental conditions, which basically mean we bury our dwellings under ground, with only the front door and perhaps a bay window exposed.

As you will understand smoke emissions are problematic, and the building code requires split system air conditioning ducts as standard, and a buried natural gas tank refillable from surface adjacent to the premises.

Fortunately, the average height is 4' 11" around here, so no need to allow for tall people.

I look forward to your reply,

Yours faithfully

B. Baggins.

Alain Delon, French actor of the 60s and 70s, is still very much alive. I sure he resents spammers using his name.

Why are you assuming that this is a spammer and not Alain Delon himself? If I recall correctly, Monsieur Delon was very big in the Pre-Engineered Building Manufacturer in India department back in the jour. I wouldn't be surprised if the post was from the great actor and I think you've been harsh to judge so quickly Zorch.

Perhaps Alain will clarify?

If right angles are not allowed, are left angles allowed?

Those would actually work nice for candy brick houses. Use small, overlapping ginger biscuits (cookies for you Americans) for the roof, longer but narrow shortbread biscuits for the fascia and soffits, Pez candies with an appropriate stiff but malleable candy for the mortar and to hold the roof together and the facia and soffits onto the house.

A short history of prefabs –building the post-war world
The Burt Committee (Interdepartmental Committee on House Construction) was a working party established in September 1942 by the wartime coalition government. The committee considered which methods and materials would be most cost-effective and efficient for providing houses after war damage in
the Blitz and the unfinished work of slum clearance had left many people homeless and living in insanitary conditions. The committee favoured prefabricated housing as a solution to the problems, and their
recommendations resulted in Emergency Factory Made Homes (EFMs), a provision of the Housing
(Temporary Accommodation) Act 1944.
Winston Churchill declared that the government would produce 500,000 prefabs. In the event £150 million was allocated to the programme and 156, 623 ‘prefabs’ were designed, produced and erected between 1946-9, across the UK. Some were built on bombsites, others on parks and open spaces and some still survive beyond their intended lifespan of 10-15 years.

Just wanted to join in.
