I have to get the pilots out and then scrap the damaged P-40's and Kittyhawks. Maybe they will feel pity and stop attacking....nah.

The retreating transports not diverted to the Andamans safely make Ceylon.

****************March 25, 1943(e)**********

New Britain: As the KB is either in the IO or moving east toward Timor, we push ahead with a landing directly at Rabaul. About 30,000 troops in the first waves. 2 USMC Reg, 1 NZ Brigade, 1 Aussie Brigade, 1 Combat Engineer Rgt, 3 Bn US Army arty, some tanks.

2nd lift, 1 USMC Rgt, 3 US Army Rgt., 7th SA Armoured, more combat engineers and cooks and typists.
We have LST's but no APA's or AKA's in this attack yet. It appears JJ is not quite ready to give up.

They clearly don't have enough infantry to stand up to this kind of force but they will likely have significant fortifications.

Sundas: We send in some Zulus with Zebra shields to see what they have at Boela. It's the same BB's from last night's bombardment. They can't all be rearmed so quickly from such a small port.

Sumatra: All the planes at Padang except the F4F's went into the chipper/shredder. Might have been a bit premature but too late now.

Somebody loaded an "engineering vehicle" on to USS Argonaut (an SST). After about 3 days the chief engineer managed to get if off the boat. This likley involved many swear words.

"Milk Run Special" B-17G

Delivered Cheyenne 16/6/44. Kearney 27/6/44. Grenier 9/7/44.
Assigned 423BS/306BG [RD-T] Thurleigh 23/7/44.

Lost in a midair with another B-17 in poor weather over Greenham Common after a raid over Kassel, Dec 1944. My mom's oldest brother, William Boyle was killed as were 7 others aboard (pilot and copilot survived). I don't think they used a trained artist for the nose art.

I think that it was the aircrew and/or the ground crew, they should bring back the nose art.

******Naval Auxiliary Air Facilities (Lighter Than Air and Seaplane) and Section Base, Eureka
(Murray Field, Eureka Auxiliary Field), March 26,1943(e)******:

Lt Cmdr. George Deval Harrington, CO, VS 48, Eureka, Calif.: This is Lt Cdr. Harrington. WE HAVE A CONFIRMED SIGHTING OF A JAP SUB 3 MILES OFF SHORE.

Cpt. Obvious, 12th Naval District, SF: Son, there aren't any Jap subs off Eureka. There is NOTHING off Eureka. There never has been.

Lt Cmdr. George Deval Harrington, CO, VS 48, Eureka, Calif.: But sir, why do we even have a base here then?

Cpt. Obvious, 12th Naval District, SF: That is because Eureka has a Congressman, son. Let me guess. Your daddy is rich. You want to be a Congressman some day. And then Senator and maybe even President so your figure you get yourself some medals and maybe have a movie made about you? Well, son, it ain't gonna happen in Eureka. Try to not get anyone killed and don't call me back unless you have a warm POW in our possession. <CLICK>

One of my Uncles saw combat in WWII, Korea and Vietnam and then died of agent Orange poisoning. My other Uncle got a DD for slugging a General. My Dad said he always had a terrible temper.

I try to send another tank Bn to Mindano split up into 4 AK's but the sneaking LYB's have Vals in the Marinara islands. Maybe we can go by way of the Pesto Islands?

Sumatra: Padang gets blasted by a naval bombardment and then air raids. All the planes are out. We are trying to build up the nearby dot bases.

And then they attack again. They rotate in fresh division and achieve a 1:2. We are burning through supplies and infantry. So are they but they must have 8 or 9 divisions rotating into the fight. We wreck another 2 2/3rd divisions.

As long as your units don't get wrecked.

You are doing a good job there. He needs more heavy artillery and he needs to knock you your fighter capabilities so he can keep bombing every turn.

This shows that the Filipino units should be able to upgrade to standard American devices after a certain time, maybe 1 January 1943.

+1 to this. I think this also shows the potential for some of the smaller allied powers (mainly the PHI and Dutch) to have upgrades for their squads the way other allied powers do.

Could make an interesting mod scenario.

I will say, it's interesting to see a game where the Philippine Army is still a factor in 1943.

Interesting. It seems the staff have been drawing the newer infantry squads and even some AT guns without telling the boss

Also, some US Army heavy weapons are highlighted under the Philippine tab. I wonder if those "provisional" PA arty units would draw 105's
