Not sure if this was a Lost Cause joke or real.

Richmond and 3 DD's will have to defend Hollandia for a few days by themselves.

Well, considering that he claims to be from 'bama, it is probably a Lost Cause joke.

Every wah I try a Landing Ship Dock joke.

Never works but I keep trying because it seems so damn funny. Almost as good as HMS Cockchafer

I am sure the Army understands the importance of their role in tying down the IJN, and supports the USN decision to stay away from there ...

New Guinea: USMC Corsairs move to Babo to sweep over Manokwari. Nice. This only works for one day because there are a bunch of Jap BB's at Boela that can crush Babo any day they choose.

Soon, we can put some heavy bombers at Hollandia and that will be the end of Manokwari AF

Do you have any bombers in reach of your bases? If so, they could ferry supplies (instead of using transports), and might be more resistant to fighters in the area.

Pretty much the heavy bombers at Moulmein are keeping the Aussies alive in Sumatra right now.

The curious thing is we are landing troops at Sinabang (island off NW tip of Sumatra) with carrier support and I don't think they even saw us because an IJN surface force finds itself within range of 4 USN/RN carriers and 3 CVE's and dodges into a cloud bank or something. No Netties show up at Sinabang even though we are well within reach of Singers.

Situation: I think we are going to get hammered at Swahaloete (or whatever it's called) and will have to give up both bases and leave behind some "volunteers" to slow the LYB's down.

There are lots of good bars at Swahaloete?
