I thought ships undergoing refit/upgrade could not accelerate repairs under any circumstances? In that case. leaving both BBs on normal repairs would be the best option.

These two girls are being repaired now...you can get both of them repaired in under 30 days by jiggering with the settings...but I want Warspite out there.

The Colorado still goes into upgrade at the end of the 30 days ... unless you want to use her without the radar upgrade...

In his post about Warspite, Lowpe mentioned that he kept Colorado at a lower priority because he wanted her to get the radar upgrade. I was questioning the ability to advance Warspite's finish date as I understood that upgrades cannot be shortened. Apparently there is a way ...

Well i dont know if Warspite was getting upgraded at Seattle historically but in the game its just damage needs to be repaired so it can be given higher priority and sped up

The US usually did some improvements when it was repairing British ships. Warspite comes out of Seattle with a suite of 20mm AA guns that were not common in the RN at the time.

Correct, but in game it is repair, not upgrade damage that is being done. Hence, your ability to influence the dock time. Ditto for the Colorado.

Working on the first Allied turn and the 2nd Japanese turn is absolutely no fun...the chores are done, and I thought to partake in an adult beverage....this was on sale, and I have never, ever had any in my life...so what the hell.

We shall see how much of the turn I can finish while enjoying a glass. To be drunk cold.

I used to drink that waaaay back when I was in my early 20s and enjoyed it then. Probably find it too sweet now. At the time, it came in a nice decanter bottle with a glass stopper (and a plastic sleeve on that to get a good seal). Nowadays I prefer to take tawny port after a good meal rather than sherry as an apèritif.

I had some Maderia a week or two ago and that was sweeter than Harveys...it does have a clean finish and nice aroma, and it is ice cold which is good because I spent today digging up and separating a bearded iris bed that I had neglected for 20 years.

It is not bad for the price....and my wife likes it.

Almost every destroyer is headed to Baker Island in squadrons of 3-5. We will dance with them along Japan's perimeter...

One Bagley squadron and the two Helena's are off to meet Saratoga.

Another Bagley squadron matches up with the three heavy cruisers for Carrier work.

The Brooklyns paired up with Porters for Baker to give a little muscle.

Battleships are docked at port running exercises and shakedowns.

There are a lot of ships here at Pearl. And Planes.

The DMS, AM will meet ships and provide escort duties...

Very good in coffee along with Kahlua - especially when you come in from standing around when it is a balmy -20 F besides the nice breeze. Although Carolans is also good for that and cheaper.

If you want a good drink cold, get ApfelKorn ice cold. Then give it to someone who thinks that it is wine. Then give them another bottle. When they get up, the may just decide to sleep right there - face down on the floor.

I didn't realize that opponents maps in the same PBEM game could look so different. I guess they don't have to use the same map in the same game.

The map art is irrelevant to game play, only the three files that contain the map coding for the game to use have to match. Art is just eye candy for the user.

Apfelkorn. Been many years since I've had that delightful drink. So long, I have forgotten it existed. :)

Finished the turn! Yeah...these first turns are killers. Still I expect I missed a fair bit...and dababes is very different to stock...lots to relearn, plus pdu off.

Bought out two B17 units from the Philippines...

Two armored units in India...

2nd Marine Division elements to Cape Town, with along a half dozen or more base forces, plus V Bomber and a Fighter Squadron.

2 Fighter Squadrons from Pearl leaving for Oz, along with every Cat squadron for Luzon...

Cap traps and some targeted naval attacks and moving forces into hiding spots...

I will probably wake up tomorrow with another turn in the mail box...but I want to take a day or two off! We are on opposite sides of the world, but I suspect we might flip quite a few turns very fast either early in the morning or late in the evening...but not just now. I need to go slow and learn the ob.

Thoughts?

Forgot to withdraw planes yesterday...

Thracian found six merchant ships, but they skeddadled after three hits...

Boise and Houston heading east from Luzon...I guess the Thundering Herd will follow and meet up with Lady Lex and E, which are approaching Wake Island.

Going to be using PP to buy troops for early deployment I think...

Looks like he wants to secure Palembang, Java and the Eastern DEI ASAP and backfill the bypassed areas later.
