Over the last week torped a few good APs around Ceylon with troops on board.

This confirms my suspicions that anything half decent is being evacuated out of Ceylon and Southern India. My initial plan was to head towards India but I suspect I would only capture empty bases and land my biggest punches on thin air. No chance for AV going down that route.

Time for a rethink!

He has popped smoke and bugging out of the Marianas.

Lowpe has played this pretty well. Saved some pretty valuable ships out of PI and even bagged one of my CAs.

I intend to hunt down some of the stragglers which are either battle damaged or fuel starved. Probably can bag a few of his half decent ships but not the CVs unless he is very unlucky.

I have a bit of combat power amassed now in the central pacific- might as well use it..... Will amend my original schedule.

Another interesting snap shot.

KB lurking for the next push into the Pacific.

*I am guessing Lowpe is looking for it in the Bay of Bengal.

Just my $0.02 -- Kinugasa is not my idea of a "good" CA.

It has big guns and long lance torpedoes. If it can surprise an enemy force, it can sink the most armoured Allied vessel in the game. That makes it a good CA.

I love the Kingasa more from a historical perspective than a capability one.

Just in real life it fell foul to SBDs. 6 x SBDs attacked and 4 scored hits with 1000 pounders (wasn't damaged either prior to the attack) It did give me pause for thought as I have never seen SBDs be so effective so early in a game (imagine if that was a CV!)

Knowing Lowpe and how much he loves detail I bet their effectiveness is no fluke and I would be wise to be cautious I suspect.

Now that was a more enjoyable turn.

Hammered my good friend on the air, sea and land.

Caught a couple of his amphib taskforces fleeing in the central pacific, seized Palembang and the rest of Java and smashed up multiple Chinese army groupings.

Only downside was a fair degree of damage to the oil seized. About 120 points which is more than I am used to.

A snap shot of some of the action below and will post some maps later

Bad luck on Palembang but nice work grabbing it relatively easily. Now to keep it protected

The Allies have largely bugged out of DEI so I don't think I will really have to worry about it until early 44.

An opportunistic raid is always a possibility so I will whack in some AA guns and have a bit of naval search active in the area just in case.

Snap shot of the running battles in the central pacific.

Made good progress smashing into some of the largely defenceless convoys but I don't want to stray to far from land based air.

Saratoga is out there somewhere and combined with the other 2 they could do some damage.

Getting ready to unleash carnage on Australia- just waiting on everything else to catch up.

KB is positioning itself ready to spring forward in the next couple of turns.

As Goose would say, that’s a target rich environment.

Scoreboard- pretty much where it should be in Dec 41.

Probably nailed a lot more merchant shipping than I normally do thanks to Dutch tardiness around Java. KB starting in the DEI also made a massive difference.

Yes it is and I know exactly where they are hiding.

*Logistically this will be a nightmare but not impossible. India is always easier but Lowpe is too clever to get caught out there. Australia is much tougher to defend, especially against a little bit of strat bombing.

The fickle Gods of war were in action on the 25th Dec.

After a previously solid turn everything went awry in the central Pacific.

Allies stopped running and threw a series of airstrikes at my mini KB.

Half expecting this but..... got the Cap settings wrong and not all task forces properly consolidated due to movement issues.

Results- 1 x CS destroyed and Zuhio in very poor shape (doubt she can be saved).

All completely avoidable except for my sloppiness.

It could have been much worse- having embedded BBs in the taskforces soaked up a lot of the punishment.

The other plus to a very ordinary turn was Lowpe has placed the US CVs back into harms way by having them almost right on top of one of my surface task forces.

Next turn there will be plenty of action again with a lot of steel heading his way.

The other key positive here is despite the occasional IJN losses, an Allied player willing to mix it up in Dec 41 (despite his significant skill level) is creating opportunities for the Empire.

Almost completely broken through in Nth China.

Are the Allies thinking of making a stand at Sian? If he does he is in for a helluva of battle and one I will happily fight.

Out of all the theatres, I suspect China is probably worrying him the most with Australia being the close second.

Probably another 7 to 10 days away from really getting stuck into Australia.

Enabling operations still underway to secure airbases and consolidate some of the necessary logistics.

Early Jan the real push begins.

This is the diciest move currently underway.

No air support aside from a few Petes and not much surface firepower either. I do have a couple of DDs out on the flank looking for potential trouble.

Pretty vulnerable but knowing where the US CVs, probably are worth the gamble. Hermes is running around with 15 sword fish in this neighbourhood but I am hoping I can sustain the losses if it turns up.

Need to take a few risks here to get established- time is critical.

Despite the last turn stuff up, things continue to progress well.

His ground losses are starting to accelerate which is pleasing. Aiming to get it to 10K as quickly as I can.
