I just installed from Steam on a brand new machine. Win10 on a Surface Book 3. When I launch the game I get the initial splash screen and the "Loading please wait..." message and it just sits there never reaching the point of giving me the buttons to launch the main game UI. I searched here and found one thread where someone reported the same kind of thing but the resolution there was "magically fixed itself" in under half an hour. I haven't been so lucky yet in the last 24 hours. I do see the following in the exception log: quote:
Successfully loaded Sim Configuration. DPI registry setting, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\LogPixels:0. DPI registry setting, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\FontDPI\LogPixels:192. DPI scale: 2. Showing splash screen. Starting loading MainForm. Configured MainForm working area Configured range ring colors Done loading MainForm. Calling MainForm_Shown. Populated CanalList. Added World Window panel. Built database list. Preparing Wold Window. Preparing Wold Window failed! WorldWindow1.CurrentWorld is null. 11/5/2020 8:57:56 AM -- B1147.14 -- Object reference not set to an instance of an object. I have used the "stop" button in the Steam UI and it flips up the OK/cancel button and that does successfully stop the game. Any clues as to what I did wrong here -- and of course more importantly what I can do to fix it?? Thanks!
