This seems to be unrelated to nutritional value, which is a bit odd, and given the biochemistry of some of these aliens doesn't really make all that much sense. Presumably this is about microbes killing you due to a hostile reaction with the human body, but if they are incompatible with human life, shouldn't the result either be that they are neutralized by a decent immune system, or result in a mutual kill due to chemistry? That, or they are just comparable enough that they are like earth life, only yet to evolve a symbiosis and thus are unstable within Terran biology. The problem is, the former implies they would be inedible, and the latter is contradicted by the fact that life on this planet involves fluorine, sulfur, peroxide, or some other chemical mix that should kill anyone foolish enough to try and eat it. My other issue is that it seems rather redundant. Atmospheric hazard is very high on every planet I've rolled with a xenobiological hazard. Enough so that the latter seems rather redundant. Am I misunderstanding how all this works, or is the system still in development and great things are planned for the future?
