The Chinese suffer the loss of their Special Forces unit, but Mao's forces destroy the garrison in Tientsin and take the port.

Not much else to show. The Philippines and Java are being reduced. There is little movement in North Africa. I attack a sub on the Arctic route but he dived

In the north the Japanese get into position to take back the port of Tientsin. However I launch my own counter to weaken one of the attackers. Before withdrawing from Tsinan I also reduce a second Japanese unit.

In the south the enemy continues to concentrate his forces. My partisans have been allowed to run amok in the rear. The Germans haven't exploited the move into the Caucasus.

The Japanese have obviously had their breather and are now moving forwards again - from the north through to FIC....

A tough turn.... With the better weather it looks like the Axis have got their second wind.

CHINA

In China I lose 6th Army in Ichang, and my forces suddenly look overly extended.... Japan has a lot of air power and my two fighters were almost overwhelmed.

If I've read it right, my Chinese forces should get an upgrade in infantry weapons next turn. I will therefore save as many points as I can to upgrade - rather than buy a replacement infantry. But then as soon as I wrote that I decided to change my mind! Pending getting advances, I still need boots on the ground. I buy the army.

Well I'm sure I made harder work of that than should be the case - but ultimately British/South African and Indian forces took Baghdad from the Iraqis. The Assam Corps will head back to India for future operations.

Once the HQ arrive I want to use the Indian Army in Burma to threaten FIC. I need to build an Army for this.

What to do with the British? There are two possibilities here. Firstly the Germans have withdrawn from Africa Full Stop. The Italians are being used to block as long as possible.

Secondly, the Italians are bait and the Germans are waiting to pounce as soon as I move from my fortified positions....

I am in the process of doing something about finding out...

The end game in the PI fast approaches. I feel I should try and get Mac out of there but....

With three battleships lost I have done little in the Pacific - and won't do until I have a fleet to take action with.

Nothing to do in China. The Japanese have moved forward to threaten a number of units, but I hold fast and upgrade everything I can (and hope that the Japanese don't make me pay too heavily...

I think I have my answer re the Germans as I detect a recce unit....

The Soviets have been truly opened up in the south. Sevastopol falls and the gateway to the Caucasus is wide open.

The convoy losses remain high - and yet I've been attacking German subs repeatedly. He must have a very heavy build program.

Nothing happened in China other than a slight withdrawal by Japanese forces southeast of Chungking. In response I withdraw too - giving up a fortified position west of Ichang, but I do this in order to continue upgrading my units as much as possible.

In southern Russia the Germans have free access to the Caucasus... However on the Volga my defenders have done a sterling job in holding up the Germans from crossing the river.

Not too much to say as action was limited:

- I have almost completed my upgrading of my Chinese units
- The Germans consolidate their gains in the Caucasus and pull back slightly from the Volga.
- The Axis continue a retreat - one hex at a time - from Egypt and I have to be very careful about attacking.
- I continue to press the u-boats in the North Atlantic (but they kept diving and little damage was done). For some reason my aircraft won't fly from my CVL's....

The Germans have pulled back completely from the river lines. Why? is this tactical pending the coming winter or what?

In the Mediterranean, my convoy from the US is spotted by Axis aircraft and I lose a US battleship....

The Dutch East Indies are conquered by the Japanese
