It has been a long time since I have contributed anything here, but I wanted to update my scenario from the CMANO days with the new fresh look of CMO.

Here is my new and (hopefully) improved scenario set in the Med in 1994. "Terrorists" out of Libya have seized a number of ships - US assets - along with their crews. The hostages are held inland and the vessels are at anchor off the coast. The President is answering this act of terrorism and piracy with the full strength of a US CVBG and SAG with the orders of freeing the hostages and recovering the assets.

But is it all a ruse, as the Soviet Bear has taken a great deal of interest in the US activities.

I would love some input from any that play and if you have any questions on function, let me know. I am working on one more iteration that will hopefully be able to use the new CARGO load/unload functions, but I am still learning how it works. For now, LUA script should bring the US marine platoons in the LZ's when the Stallions get them there.

Thanks for taking the time to look at this old/new scenario again!

DJ

UPDATE: I forgot to add the Libyan patrols around the captured HVA's.

Here is the new file.

EDIT: Ignore request below. Realized that even though I downloaded and installed same day as problem that for some damn fool reason the DL was not the most current version of the game, by a lot. The updated told me 2X that game was current and then finally discovered, oh, there is an update to the program and asked if I wanted it. Duh...

Brand new to this version of Command, have run original since it came out and every version of Harpoon before.
I know I am doing something wrong but...
trying to run this scenario after playing a couple of the built ins, getting an error about trying to load a database that is not in the DB folder...
I see multiple DB listed; latest appears to be DB3K480 dated November 2019 & CWDB 478 dated October 2019.

Newer Db than November 2019 needed?
Or ??

Thanx

RAS

I like it. Very promising.

But I think it is somehow broken? When I initiate an attack on Tripolis, the enemy shoots at around 130nm on my fighters. But I was only able to see the missiles, not the unit firing it. As the distance is very high, thats okay for sure. But then I set up a low level attack and was able to get very close to them. Sure, firing on them with sidearms and harms in the BOL mode worked, but I couldn't use mavs or bombs as my jets were 2 or 3 miles away from the launcher, without seeing them. Which was kinda frustrating, as I like this era of scenario (Tomcats, Intruders, Vikings... just nice stuff :)) and that the scenario is a long-term one, where you don't have only one or two strike runs, cause they always need 6hrs to refill. So the setup is very nice. :)
But as I kept fighting ghosts I went in the editor to have a look on the libyan side (what I usually don't to, cause it takes some surprises) and noticed that there aren't any launch sides or radars where they where in my mission. Kinda weird.
I'm using CMO on the actual version.

Another litte point I noticed is that there aren't enought weapons on the CV for 5 days. Actually the Tomcats only have the Sparrows under their wings available, not a single one more in the CV Mags. That was easy to change for me as a noob in the editor, but that could need a little polishing as well.

Looking forward for an update and/or answer. As said... very nice scenario already. :)

Thanks for the kind words and the info!

I used the import function for the Libyan Air defense system, so I cannot speak too much for how it was originally designed. I will look at it and see if I get any similar activity.

I will also look at the ammo bunkers on the US ships to make sure that there is sufficient weapons to sustain the number of days' actions.

I really appreciate you taking a look at the scenario once more and I am glad you like it.
