At the experimental stage but this airborne sonar technology looks very interesting:

Sounds interesting as well.

Not a lot of detail, but interesting these wargames are taking place.

I cant believe gosnold missed this:

TJSW-6 communication technology experiment satellite launched on February the 4th.

https://www.space.com/china-long-march-3b-rocket-launches-tjsw-6-satellite

Yeah, it sounds like some unassuming communications satellite, but that's exactly what China wants you to think!

According to Chinese internet leaks, this here is a Geostationary L-band SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) Satellite with whopping 20m resolution, for now known as "GEOSAR". This new bird basically allows China to continuously track all objects of interests in the South China Sea and large portions of the West Pacific (assuming it will be placed right next to the other known GTO satellite like the optical 50m resolution GF-4) even during night-time and heavy cloud cover - since it's a radar satellite that can look through all that. Also, since it is GTO, it wont move away.

https://lt.cjdby.net/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=2697876&extra=page%3D1

Needless to elaborate the implications in regards to ASBM targeting.

Mass delivery of fast attack crafts to the IRGC-N

Equipped with two Nasr/C-704 AshM each, these high-speed boats use their speed to compensate the fact that their sensors and armament is only of "within horizon" (~40km) kind.
Whats the max speed that Iran has reached till now? Any information?
My wild guess is around 75~80 knots ;)

These on the photos are in the 50-70 knot range. The newest one probably 90 knots. (according to the discussion of the tweet). Note the different surface radars.

The Arab Coalition has reported the destruction of 204 Houthi-laid sea mines in the Red Sea since the beginning of its intervention, an increase of 67 mines since February 2020. This does not include sea mine recoveries made by GoY-aligned forces.

Maybe useful for scenario building.

For a program which is supposedly a failure (according to U.S. media) I counted 806 non-US Military planned orders and that doesn't count Turkey, which looks to be a dead deal.

Brown’s comments are a tacit admission that the F-35 has failed.

The claim "F-35 is failed" is just that Forbes staff's opinion, not USAF's official statement.

The United States may field a new fighter aircraft type by fiscal year (FY) 2029, according to a related contract notification posted on 4 March.

An artist’s impression of an NGAD concept. According to a DoD contract notification, the US military may field this or another ‘next generation’ combat aircraft by the end of FY 2029. (Boeing)

The contract awarded to Raytheon for AIM-120 Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM) aircraft integration support lists several aircraft types that carry the system, before expanding its remit to potentially include those existing types that do not, as well as a type or types that have yet to enter into service.

“This contract will provide the necessary aircraft lab, flight test, flight clearance, and simulation support during all integration requirements in AMRAAM for F-15, F-16, F/A-18, F-22, F-35, and other current inventory or next-generation platforms that may join the air force or navy inventory before the end of fiscal year 2029,” the Department of Defense (DoD) said in its contract notification.

With the notification listing all US Air Force (USAF) and US Navy (USN) aircraft types (or their derivatives, such as the EA-18G Growler) cleared to carry the AMRAAM, it is not immediately apparent to which platform or platforms the DoD might be referring in its notification.

The only other tactical air (TacAir) platform in the US inventory that does not already carry the missile and which is not a derivative of the types listed is the Fairchild-Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II. However, while the A-10 does carry the short-range AIM-9 Sidewinder, this is purely for self-defence, and as such it would be highly unlikely that it would ever be equipped with the longer ranged AMRAAM for offensive aerial combat.

I wonder sometimes if the F-15/16/18 (maybe F-22), J-16/17, & MiG-31/SU-27 type airframes aren't the apex of PRACTICALE fighter/multi-role aircraft design and if we all (U.S., Russia, PRC) are pouring money into Fifth Generation technologies that will never live up to their hype. Seems like the SU-57 and J-20 are also having very similar issues and maybe there is a limit to where an airframe can go and be a practical combat aircraft? I don't know but I do wonder sometimes if we're killing our counties in search of weapons that will never pan out.

It might be the apex of manned fighter aircraft. I suspect the the next evolution is unmanned edge fighting with AI-assisted human-controlled unmanned aircraft. I also think a factor beyond the evolution of the aircraft is the rapid increase in ground-based defense capabilities.

Can't argue with anything you've said. Certainly a smaller drone can do things a maned aircraft can't. Certainly can pull more G's without a pilot to black out.

And does not count as commit a war crime by ramming a drone into a target, when it’s absolutely necessary.

Not only new fighters but also the unmanned programs drive a new combat aircraft like the programs of Kratos:
Interview quotes:

"Kratos currently has two company owned Valkyries that are flying today, including in the recent ABMS attritable ONE program with these Kratos owned assets expanding our first to market leading position. " ~ Eric DeMarco Kratos.

"As I have mentioned previously, most of the work related to the Mako is now classified, and I'm unable to comment further, and similar to Kratos’s Valkyrie and the Gremlins, there is no competing drone in the Mako class flying today" ~ Eric DeMarco.

"Similar to Valkyrie, Gremlins and Mako, Kratos’s AirWolf Tactical System is once again the only system in its class flying today. Kratos’s Thanatos program which is also classified continues on schedule with a number of imp. milestones we need to achieve in 2021" Eric DeMarco

I think Chains of War was too generous (and I mean way too generous) with how the US could perform in a future shooting war with China: https://www.yahoo.com/news/were-going-to-lose-fast-us-air-force-held-a-war-game-that-started-with-a-chinese-biological-attack-170003936.html

I believe since the US is the only country to ever use Nucs in anger in a war, the proper response to a major theater wide biological attack would be the US being the first country to first use "Tactical" Nucs in a soon to be (hopefully)short conflict, which I assume would not be the stated goals that the Chicoms were looking to attain with said attack...

Interesting article about drone used from US submarines.

The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) plans to buy up to 120 Blackwing 10C UAVs from the California-based company.
