In the attached savefile, the J-16 with Generic IRST can't silently shoot PL-15, the weapon allocation page says can not fire Error Occured. Game version: 1147.18, DB version: 488.

UPDATE: Looks like it's not only a problem with just the Generic IRST but also other IR sensors like PIRATE. I can try to provide more savefiles if needed.

Tested the scenario "IRST test.scen" right now, using B1147.18.

With the Typhoon and Rafale, I can indeed launch Meteor missiles:

With the J-16, I am getting the reported error message:

On the J-16: The "Generic IRST" sensor that it has is NOT the AAW-FC capable one:

J-16 IRST:

IRSTs in DB3Kv488 capable of generating AAW-FC data:

Note the different ID.

The confusion stems from the identical name (without the comments). To clarify this, for the next update we are adding a note on the sensor capabilities list in the DB viewer:

Added a tweak to cover edge cases where a sensor considers itself to not be able to track a contact because its age is more than the "currently tracking it" threshold. This enables aircraft to take a shot immediately against even a very "old" contact IF they can re-detect it right "now" with an AAW-FC capable sensor.
