Carolina Hurricanes vs. Tampa Bay Lightning tonight. #2 chasing #1 in the division and league.
Let's Go Canes!!!
Oh, hockey ? Who won ?
My Hurricanes won in a very exciting game, 4-3.
Meh.
Was it as good as the second to last game that the USA team played in the 1980 Winter Olympics?
Not quite that exciting.
Well, I think that you can find that game on youtube. It is a good thing that in the next game that the USA team beat the Czechs. Too bad Finland did not win their last game for a bronze medal. Which would have left the USSR with . . .

I am a bit confused here. If Finland had won their final game, then USSR would have won the gold instead of USA. I don't think that Finland ever played the Czechs in the 1980 Olympics.

I recall that I was seriously **** after the 2-2 draw for Sweden in their first match. I thought, at the time, that the referees had been very partisan in their effort. If not bought. Although that thought was not allowed to be said out loud at that time. And now, after such a long time has passed I am not sure I trust my memory...

High of 72 F. Today. Thursday a high of 36 F. Yuck....GP
Roaring winds overnight, causing all kinds of noises on the roof above me where there are cell and telecom towers, plus the usual machinery for apartment buildings. Some big metal item was going 'boom' every time a gust of wind made it flex. Kept me awake a lot. When this system came though southern Alberta yesterday it cause an instant white-out on the highway with a 60 vehicle pile up - many of them large trucks. One truck's dash cam shows the wind blowing it over on its side. Temperature also plunged from +10C yesterday to -10C this morning. Old Man Winter sprung his surprise in Spring!

BB, you're a little bit farther north than I am. So for you, I guess it comes with the territory. ....GP

The wind around here has been crazy as well. I made the mistake of taking the little boat out today to fix a fountain issue. She almost went over. I then decided fountain remediation work could wait.

Back when I was in college a buddy of mine and I when for a sail on the Charles River in Boston. A wind came up and took the boat out from under us. It sucked....GP

Just remember. When the US Navy needs help, they call the US Coast Guard. When the US Coast Guard needs help, the US Army drives a truck out to save them.

NEIN!
they seek......solice in good old fashioned WOOD.
Nyet!
When a US Coast Guard vessel was stuck on a reef and could not get unstuck, a US Coast Guard vessel could not rescue the crew then the US Army drove a 2 and a 1/2 ton truck out to the vessel and saved the crew. There were 50mph winds in that gale which would be 80kph.
