for example, those Thai LCU, only need their +AV squads to be auto replacement for garrison use, but do not want them to get ART/AFV/Support squads

Turn on "stockpile" for the devices that you do not want these units to receive when you have set them to receive replacements. Turn of the replacements when they don't need more and then turn off the "stockpile" so that other units that you what them to have those devices will then receive them. That is only a few more clicks . . .

Stockpile for all units or none. Either that or the units that you do not want to have those replacements get no replacements at all.

You can do the Thai replacements for one turn, it usually will take a few turns before they can receive replacements again so turn their replacements off. Turn on stockpile for the turns that the Thai units receive replacements, then turn off the stockpile while turning off the Thai replacements.

Stockpile for all units or none. Either that or the units that you do not want to have those replacements get no replacements at all.

You can do the Thai replacements for one turn, it usually will take a few turns before they can receive replacements again so turn their replacements off. Turn on stockpile for the turns that the Thai units receive replacements, then turn off the stockpile while turning off the Thai replacements.

Sounds the best we can do. Just lose several turns time for IJ units to gain those squads.

But the Thais still need support squads to keep their combat squads in the best condition and any engineers there can work on defensive fortifications for the later defense of that base.

Those none-IJ LCU would be ideally used for garrison without support, isn't it? But to calc which goes where to just fulfill the garrison need is big problem. Especially if you want to make best use of all your strength every turn.

You can't use all of your strength every turn.

The game engine is specifically designed to prevent this.

Stop trying to min/max the game and you will enjoy it a whole lot more.
