Turn 3

Ground Phase

Supply is at the depot where the FBD is at right now. Pskov will have to be cleared to keep this moving next turn. I have 3 FBD's bearing down on Leningrad. I am going full tilt for this with overwhelming numbers. At least I hope to in theory.

I want these two Soviet Airfields to bring up my fighters. Serious lack of Airfields for my fighters at the moment.

That's why this player doesn't build early airfields without some reasonable prospect of holding them. At least for a while. Otherwise I prefer that you have to build your own.

Ya, I have to scrounge for airfields like crazy. But Pskov will end up being my bomber bases and will try to capture the airfields SW of Leningrad on the coast for fighters.

Turn 3

Ground phase (Real time, like I just did it)

North rail I went along the coast to pick up the extra rail yard. The FBD is finished repairing up to this point. I have 3 hexes more to repair to Riga then after that I have a lot of converted hexes on the good side. I estimate across the Narva with this FBD on turn 7.

Turn 3

Ground Phase

Forgot that I kept the ports open here for reference. Lost a lot of bombers flying distance here to operational losses :( They will be moved up and rested if needed.

Turn 3

Ground Phase

I brought up all of JG-51 for Air Superiority missions here. Got a few easy kills. I have this open next turn by bringing up a rested bombers from Germany. Plus now I have a few mid level air bases over here.

Riga rail yard recovered nicely from the earlier turn rail yard bombing.

Big Time overkill but I attack and occupy the hex with the division. Heinrici will make sure the Fighters that are coming into the Airbase are safe :)

Turn 3

Ground phase (real time)

1st attack North I turn on Air support, all of it for this attack since I don't know what the unit is :( Was able to make the inf Division retreat. I will hit it again with 7PZ and all airpower. Because after that the way looks open, I hope.

2nd attack with all air power forces a route. I now turn off Airpower unless I need it because of range. Now fighters have a new home.

North

Looks like I will get within 7 hexes of Leningrad turn 3. Still doing turn. Would have LOVED to have cut that double track rail line though this turn.

Ground phase (real time, as in I just did the move)

Form another pocket South East of Pskov. This is bad and good. Bad because I have to siphon off some infantry to cover & eliminate next turn. But have directed some Infantry further south to this area.

I want these two Soviet Airfields to bring up my fighters. Serious lack of Airfields for my fighters at the moment. Once taken I will transfer in a BF109 squadron then do a resupply(not a supply drop). Then bring in another and do a resupply. Will bring in a recon squadron if I have to then resupply. That way I get the fighters close to the front and in supply.

Thanks for the AAR's. Not sure what you mean above by "resupply(not a supply drop)". Do you mean the supply that happens when you transfer air units to a newly converted air base?

Yes. You can manually trigger a resupply of an airbase by moving an air unit to the base. So HLYA is talking about sending air units one at a time to trigger sufficient resupplies to bring in enough supplies to last until his next logistics phase.

Yes, Moving recon helps with this a lot to the respective airbase :)

You can also do this:

Here is an airbase in my other game that has only 67% supply with many fighter squadrons as an example.

If you right click the airbase name you bring up a menu. Under that menu you have "resupply airbase". Click that to resupply(this does not always work for a number of reason which you can consult the manual for that. But if close to supply network it works well.

After you click the resupply as I did in this one the airbase now has full supply. I usually do this at the end of the turn too.

Turn 3 End of Turn

South

I play it safe here because I forgot to recon ahead. I rest my badly beat up Panzers from last turn and try to get a few more men refitted in. TOE still in the 60's. I squeeze the pockets down to some big stacks and wait for next turn.

Die Wacht am Belorussia

Yup, you are seeing it correct. I am "sitzkrieging" here in horse range of the depots. Did not know if people realize this or not but saving trucks and will get the swamp an easier way this game, I hope. I am on a time schedule and I do hope it holds since I have 3 rails going North plus sea supply. Should be more than enough to supply the army and Airforce for Leningrad.

North

Was able to cut off all the Soviets in the opening photo of the recon of the North. I should have enough Infantry to eliminate the pockets and maybe 4th panzer can get across the Narva too. Have to see the defense that is going to be thrown up turn 4.

Lucky for you, your level of play is a lot better than your languages :-)

In German, nouns are written with a starting capital . Adjectives and such normally not.

The sentence should read :"Die Schreie der verstorbenen Soldaten."
