The research objective screens allow you to select, which of the discovered Research fields to pursue.
You got no discovered technology, so there is nothing to select.

What else do you need to know?

At first I thought I was stuck and prevented from going to next turn since I could not resolve this decision, but that was not the case. No decision were presented - I though that would be obvious, but apparently not.
