ok heres the deal I am the Ijn my task forces were on retire...they did as you can see the kako was HEAVILY damaged it an three ships made one hex...np I resinded the "retirement allowed" an react to enemy forces... an sent it back to shortlands next turn it did not repeat goto shortlands...I was EXTREMLY ****** AT THIS POINT AN CHANGED IT'S HOME PORT TO SHORTLANDS....WALAHHH! THEY WENT TO SHORTLANDS AND STAYED...MINUS THE KAKO WHICH SUNK IN SIGHT OF THE HARBOR!!!!!!! :mad:.This kinda of "GARAGE PROGRAMMINIG"...really pisses me off.Question?...can we expect more of this kinda nonesense in witp? This is'nt a rant,ok.If a ship is endangering of sinking put it in anchorage,does'nt sound to hard to figure it out

Sadly (or whatever), the way the system works, badly damaged ships always retire - independent of the no retire setting - to their home port.
Its not a problem for a human player, but sucks for the AI - whose homeports are almost always Rabaul/Turk/Noumea/Brisbane. It should be changed in Witp. As for now - YOU could have saved your little CA by simply making sure Shortlands was set as her homeport. Turn out you didn't - sounds like a command mistake from Fleet HQ. :p Its war - sh!t happens - live and learn and move on. ;)
