Status: offline 		Does taking hexes south of Lvov but to the west of the city still trigger the Soviet Southern Front activation?

Or are the impacted hexes east of the city?

No. If you check out my BETA post AAR with Carlkay I show exactly where you can go to not activate the Southern Front. If you take the triangle that is on the Map and instead draw an arrow down and an arrow east in that hex you wont activate the Southern Front. Just note those hexes are "EXCLUSIVE" of the arrows pointing hex. BUT be careful with the arrow pointing South since some of those border hexes will trigger. But yeah, check out the BETA post if you can. Otherwise I can annotate a Snapshot and send it to you or post here.

Status: offline 		Anything past that Light Blue line will activate the Southern Front. Please realize that a ZOC over that blue line that takes a hex will activate but a ZOC that didn't flip a hex will not. At least that was the case in my BETA tests.

Status: offline 		Yes, if BOTH hex coordinates > 187 you have activated the Southern Front on turn 1.

since we can't change the release text, no it unfortunately can't be the same in both places. One reason for the Living Manual and trying to make it as easy as possible to spot changes - most are patch related but a few relate to pre-release errors

You've misread what I wrote. You CAN fix both places in the living manual! Specifically page 71 says "south AND east", while page 206 says "south OR east".

Soviets can reinforce the southern area in T1 even if the area itself is not activated.
In a game I've seen a hefty amount of armoured forces issued there, that troubled an amount the scarce Axis forces operating in the area in the first turns.
