Yes, that is how it works. What I did was create a folder on my desktop and save copies of all my personal photo's and if they get over written I just copy them back in from my personal saved folder.

I do the same thing. I found the process is more successful overall if you delete everything in the image directories before copying the downloaded images back in. That is usually the best way to make sure the odd mistakes in older downloads don't carry over. Then I copy my personal collection over the newest download. Obviously separate processes for db3k and cwdb.

Just saw this photo.

Might be useful for either B-52H ~2020/21 or just open parking...

Gunner-Nice photo. Kgambit and I are close to releasing a new image package update. I'll add it to the update.

I just noticed that the picture for the Finnish Airforce Learjet 35 A/S (#2168) used for reconnaissance an maritime surveillance is of a Danish F-16AM

Anzu, are you sure you have the most recent update(s)? My copies of the October 2020 and January 2021 DB3K image updates have a Finnish Learjet image in #2168, and it should be in the upcoming update as well. I'll double check with Steve just to make sure.

Like kgambit, I show the image to be a Learjet. Possibly if it were an incorrect image in an earlier update it got corrected. Of note, when we release the update packages, it is important to delete your entire image directory if you want the complete update. Do not merely overwrite. In each update we correct in various images and naming conventions, including deleting without replacement some images that are flat out wrong, but we don't have proper replacements for. Additionally, we correct and replace some erronous images. If a user does not delete the existing image files, the incorrect files may remain on their system and not be corrected. I suspect that is what happened in your case. See the "Readme" file that is included in the update.

Updated image and description packs are now available on the WS downloads page!

quote:

"Descriptions" -This contains the entire description set for the CWDB and DB3000 databases updated to 31 May 2021. It is broken up into the CWDB folder (4.36 MB, 910 files) and the DB3000 folder (15.7 MB, 3379 files). Although only 104 additional description files have been added, several earlier description files have been corrected and/or had additional information added or otherwise revised.

"Images"-This contains the entire primary images set for the CWDB and DB3K database updated to 01 October 2020. It contains a CWDB folder of primary images (1.27 Gb, 6,485 files) a DB3000 folder of primary images (2.26 GB, 11,753 files). In addition, there have been numerous images that have been either corrected, or tags added. No secondary images are included in this update.

The images can also be downloaded on-demand from within CMO (no manual action needed). If you wish to re-download images that you have already got (e.g. to update), delete all files in these folders:
[CMO]\DB\Images\DB3000
[CMO]\DB\Images\CWDB

The updated description files will be included in the next update release.

Big props for this new release to CV60 (overall coordinator) and especially kgambit!

The updated description files will be included in the next update release.

Just to clarify, if I download the latest CMO update (1147.25), do the databases (DB3000 and CWDB) get updated too?

Put the secondary images in the Images\CWDB or Images\DB3000 folder.

I went on Wikipedia and grabbed a public domain image of a "pistol" shrimp to use with the new biologicals in the database. Please see attached.

Thanks for this amazing work!
A question: Is there a way to permanently remove the secondary/small pictures?
I tried to remove all line drawings pictures, but the game downloads them automatically.

The secondary images go in the same folder as the primary images. In other words, place the CWDB images in the "C:\Matrix Games\Command Modern Air Naval Operations\DB\Images\CWDB" folder, and the DB3000 images in the "C:\Matrix Games\Command Modern Air Naval Operations\DB\Images\DB3000" folder.

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the place to post a discrepancy with the DB3000 and the images :)

#844 is supposed to be the Italian Carrier "Garibaldi".

I'm playing a scenario updated to DB488 and I have the latest image pack (images folder form scratch - nothing there before unzipping the images).
DB browser is showing the picture of a patrol craft or similar.
(I have updated the scenario to DB489 with the same result)

The "Ship_844_t5.jpg" image is correct.

Thanks!

Thanks. That was the result of a file numbering error. It's been corrected for the next update.

The AA-7 Apex missiles either have wrong or incorrect text descriptions for the DB3k DB.

DB_ID 790 AA-7 Apex A [R-23R, SARH] -- incorrect
DB_ID 789 AA-7 Apex B [R-23T, IR] -- incorrect
DB_ID 152 AA-7 Apex C [R-24R, SARH] -- missing
DB_ID 151 AA-7 Apex D [R-24T, IR] -- missing

I've attached a suitable replacement text file using info from wikipedia that seems generally correct.

You're welcome CV60! Kudos to you and your team for the effort that it takes to manage all of these files.

I found time to look at the CWDB and found the AA-7 was missing descriptions for all models. The same description file could probably be used for them as well.

DB_ID 746 AA-7 Apex A [R-23R, SARH] -- 1974
DB_ID 747 AA-7 Apex B [R-23T, IR]
DB_ID 1498 AA-7 Apex C [R-24R, SARH] -- 1981
DB_ID 1499 AA-7 Apex D [R-24T, IR] -- 1981
