Looking forward to see the house complete. And how the backyard will look when you had some time to work on it.

Perhaps a 'work station' outdoors where one could 'work' on the WITP:AE impulses?

I will definitely share some pics of the backyard after we move in, and then again when the pool is built. No idea how long the pool will be after we get in, as that industry is very backed up as well. The laptop out on the screened in porch, overlooking the backyard and fields next door will be a great place to plan and order the destruction of Mike's Japanese Empire.

No outdoor kitchen for us, but I will have a nice, moderately sized gas grill. Mrs. USSA isn't very fond of grilled food, so it will mostly be feeding just me.

I'm going to "build" a firepit, consisting of 3 circular rows of stacked landscaping bricks soon after we get in. When the pool construction is ready to start, it will be relocated out of the way and then rebuilt inside the fenced in area beyond the pool. We have lots of invasive Callery Pear trees that I wouldn't mind if they didn't have 3-4 inch thorns on them. Right now they are "standing firewood" and will eventually be cleared and replaced, possibly with some Red Oaks and Red Maples.

On my grill I use copper cooking mats. The food ends up being just like it was cooked indoors....GP

Don't forget you'll need a deer stand in the backyard. Doesn't get any fresher on the grill.

I wish we had enough more property to add a berm for a range. Alas, I'll have to be satisfied with the club range that is 7 minutes from the house.

Same here, GP. My father died from it when he was a year younger than I am now. Very happy to hear Marc's news!

One of our cats wakes me up almost every day as the sun is coming up to "touch his food". There's plenty there, he just wants me to take him to it. He has me trained well. The problem is that most days I can't/don't go back to sleep after he gets me up, no matter how late I stay up the night before. I'm a night owl, so I'm up late often.

Sounds like you are coming "of age" then! At a certain age I started having a max 5 hour sleeping period with a required afternoon nap to make up the shortfall. And I don't have a cat - but my bladder provides the wake-up call.
