While searching for a solution to my Icewind Dale 2 problem, I noticed something that may or may not be relevant. This is from [url]www.ati.com[/url], on their games troubleshooting list. It seems that some ATI graphics cards can suffer from slow 3D performance when used with Windows XP and 512 MB or more of memory.

The cards affected are:- Radeon, Radeon VE, 7000, 7200, 7500 and 8500.

The given solution is to install Windows XP display driver version 6.13.10.6025 or higher.
