Battles In the Pacific
I doing a wargame, like WitP, its already looking good, i can be confident, i will have it done. still in dev, but all the componants are fitting togetheer, have a look at some of the screenshots, still got a few jobs to do like tidy the map generator up.

the graphics are just place holders untill i get the code right. I have just finished naval detection and a very complex supply mechanic for the entire map. the map is made by my random map generator, i have to fix it yet, still early days but I can see a WitPAE game forming, i know it may not seem it with the screenshots but its early dev.




just added objectives for A.I. controled ships, you can have some of your own ships under A.I. control too, . my next task is auto convoys

Ok , I have been fidling with the map generator, I think that now looks like pacific islands ? the generator is nearly complete, the real maps may look better but this is totally random islands map so replayability value is higher. I have been beavering away with this.

is any body interested in me posting progress on this project?

I like the many games you have posted in the forums. I would like to see progress reports w/screenshots.
Your game takes me back to SSG's first edition of Carriers at War and SSI's Pacific General w/o 3D units.

added zomm and Auto convoy, added unit artwork for different zoom levels.

rommel222 im only to glad to post, thanks for your support

i have finished movement, and A.I. control, and speed of ships, i have added estimated move of ships, and added estimated objectives of enemy. i have three things to do in the near future, finish combat and set weypoints, and setup some databases, im taking my time and doint it to the best of my ability cutting no corners.

Im now onto the air war part, im also planning a graphical combat view, but the text is a stopgap but i do like it. I added a swap sides option to play hotseat aswell as against A.I.

almost finished the airwar systems, added CAP sliders, attack range sliders. added air only attacks too. bases and aircraft carriers will aid with air units in battles in their patrol zone.

added save and load, updated combat system, looks like a useable version, im just going to update the tiles graphics now the game is ok.

after vasts amounts of error checking, I can finaly relax , seems ok , i forgot about errror checking, its always nessasary in any new project.

I have added smoke and fire graphics to damaged ships, see pic above.

i added a XY display on the combat screen to allow you to find hotspots in the battle like where the planes are coming from etc...also if you do just an air attack, then any airfields or sea based air unit will interdict, so look for targets away from bases

Nobody told me the end of turn combat system was not working properly :) it was the one thing i thought was ok, anyway fixed now and I speeded up everything, so all other version pror were broken. this is a fully tested and working version. Im finished except at some point im going to add an editor, and some databases

Map and icons are easy on my old eyes. ship icon damage features are a nice touch.

I could not help adding a database to the game, its clickable and takes to to the map location, it gives lots and lots of info on all your units to help plan the war.

thaankyou for trying it out and giving me an insentive to do this, its great game now, only an editor to add at some point in the future

Now I found all the bugs, Im adding fluff , added game settings to the startup. I have now tested everything so you can be sure of a good versio, I am now retiring from the dev of it, its done!

making an android port. looking for anybody to test it, runs on android 11, but also compiled for 12, dont know if rightclick drag works ormousewheel or escape key, but i can build that in, the current apk file is on the webpage. after watching some youtube vids you allow unknown sources and then transfer the apk file by bluetooth or SD card, stay tunned

finished phew! now got end of turn attacks from A.I. done, i also got the android version done added map scroll and zoom buttons for andriod, and a zoom button for android, and a cancel attack button for android, but you need android latest probably and a hidef screen. got the database to show A.I. controled ships and convoys, I managed to get everything done, thought i was finished a few times sorry, its finished now so no more posts

i fixed some errors, the ships were getting repairs to engines and getting refueled at ports, but was not getting ammo and hull repairs fixed now, and i added some pregen game customization to make things interesting, i hope to god thats finished now

Praise indeed from someone who knows about such things have you seen my others I have about 90 games and tools here https://iamnumber4.itch.io/ , some are wargames like blitzkrieg , I just get an idea and i cant not make the game, and im into wargames so i make wargames :) I was once employed as a dbase programmer/sysop/supervisor on a novell network many moons ago, but my real experience comes from the ZX81 and ZX Spectrum.
