Ok, what are you suppose to do with these Truck Columns?

I have used them when it is necessary to rapidly move straight-leg infantry to threatened areas while defending. Haven't needed them while on the offense yet, but I could see doing so.

Very useful in moving Volksgrenadiers or Airborne rapidly with minimal loss of readiness.

Yes, I figured as much but just what are the mechanics involved to use them? The manual has nothing or I missed it.

I have also used the truck columns to replenish my motorized/mechanized units that are losing trucks in almost every attack (hence, they become unmotorized at one point eventually). First, you might transport your foot infantry to the front line, and then just cannibalize the truck columns for your motorized forward elements.
