Seems that there is no longer freedom in choosing own avatars. As such, I would like to apply to include Poland's flag in the avatars' gallery. Example enclosed.

You can add an avatar of your own free will. (look at mine). Just choose the "upload an Avatar" option in the profile editing.

Strange but I can't find this option. There is only "upload a picture" (or something like this) in the profile editing. I uploaded my old avatar. However, I cannot untick the box with the standard avatars.

Any detailed instructions for a newbe avatar user?

That is strange.

You can't untick an option, it's either or. That is, if you choose one, it will swich from the other.

You should be able to switch between 'choose standard avatar' and 'upload avatar', then klick on the text itself to get the browse catalogue window...

Sorry guys but maybe I'm dumb . In the avatar section there is only an option "click to choose avatar" and it links with the gallery of standard avatars. There is no option "upload avatar" unless you talk about "set up profile photo".

Custom avatars are enabled once you reach 50 posts. Perhaps that's the problem?

Eh, thanks. Made it yesterday.

The old face got crushed along with the database so I'm using this one until I can find a new source to make a new 'look-alike'. I wanna use the opportunity for these HUGE avatars we can have now, too.

edit: Regarding slyone; Bah. Along comes Erik with his knowledge.

Something else that has changed: looks like HTML code is now 'case sensitive'.
I noticed that many sig images weren't being displayed...mine included! When I changed the bracketed 'img' to lower case the picture appeared.

Picky, picky....you know what I meant!

I've seen this on other forums, and the admins were able to amend it.
AFAIK its due to LINUX being case sensitive.

I tried uploading a new avatar, and it doesn't want to show when I post.

What's that in Mickey's pants? He's got his baguette under his arm and his balls in his other hand.

Hmm I am running out of randam variables to fiddle with in my case.

Lets see, I am properly ranked in with the Legion of Honour roll.
Although I would rather like my job title of "Turn based nuisance CEO" back if anyone can assist there :)

I have a listed sum of posts well exceeding 3000 (which is more than 50 I think :) ).

My join date is in order.

But I have used up all the buttons and methodologies in the Profiles portion of my control panel and i still don't have a pic of Les the Sarge 9-1 (and I hate all the underscores intensely Shaun hehe, but I can live with it).

I have the pic successfully stored in a post inside my image stash thread here.
http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/upfiles/2110/Sq474789411.jpg
So if anyone in management can just edit my details to put the durned thing in as my avatar I would have no problem there.

Makes a lousy image for profile image though, pixelated to hell.
I am even including the blast image here.
