Well, I think I qualify here. I'm still here, Huffy! I've been in the jungles of Guadalcanal for the last two months but we're due to be taken off this hell hole soon. MC-W (Mega Campaign-Watchtower) is very close to completion. It is an experience that all SPWAW gamers will want to enjoy! Enjoy! When you're done with this 70 scenario jewel, with options, articles, pictures, insights, choices, you'll have known a little of the feeling of desperation of the fighting that took place there in the longest single campaign in Marine History. MC-Watchtower...coming soon. You don't want to miss this one. Wild Bill

Vet is a greatly subjective term. I have worn uniform, but never been shot at (thank god).
I remember thinking wargaming was Tactics II.
I have the original Steel Panthers, but didnt play it as much, because I always had trouble loading it on my uninterested computer.
My number isnt a low 3 digit number but its about right for chronological purposes.
I dont post large volumes, but my posts are usually more than 50 words heheh.
I have never been one of the more analytical types on here, but I try to post the occasional thought provoking comment. I think vet might be a bit generous for me. I like to think of my self as 1st Line maybe.

I joined this forum to maybe get a little insight about the game while waiting for it to download. I'm still waiting for it to download. Does this mean I can be a veteran also?

Mine goes back to 1965, Sarge, AH and AK and Midway. 36 years of active gaming and still counting! I've been with Steel Panthers since the first beta version of the first Steel Panthers in 1994, nearly seven years ago. I've followed through on the beta teams of every single version to come out since then, SP2, SP3, SP2WW2, SPWW2 and now SPWAW. And God willing, I'll be here for the next one. That is not arrogance, but gratitude - gratitude for the opportunity and for the extended life. And you qualify! Believe me, you qualify....WB

I guess I'm a vet and a rooky at the same time Vet because I'm a big fan since SP1 and rooky because only today I discovered this wonderful forum. Been thinking in start playing some games with other players for a change at the net or maybe by e-mail, instead of just playing vs the computer. Any candidates? A hearty welcome Richard. You'll find this group affable and ready to help. The spirit here is positive, a pleasant change from most forums. We agree to disagree and demonstrate the common courtesies so rarely found elsewhere on the internet. It is a privilege to have an SP vet join us. Wild Bill

What is a Veteran ?
A Veteran senses if he is observed.
A Veteran feels it in his bones if there is a ambush, before it happens.
A Veteran hears if he is heard.
A Veteran don`t bother one's head about the consequence of his aktions.
A Veteran has scars of experience.
I was a Veteran for a wile go.
Before that I was thrown out off this forum.
Before that I was observed and did not know it.
Before that I was ambushd and I did not feel it in my bones.
And I do care about the consequence of my aktions.
It happend like this, I "King__Thunder" without those 2__ lines was writing in this forum and was tired, my daughter was obsering me.
I went to sleep and I forgot to turn of my computer, my daughter did not turn off my computer, she heard me close the door and she ambush me.
I survived it and gaind experience with the scars, but lost my "status".
Dosn`t this prove that I am a veteran ?

There is a member here called either 'Charles22' or 'Charles 22', but he's never posted a lick beyond when this forum changed registration methods, because that was my old account.
Those of us really around remember the old wargamer boards...

I havn't played SPWAW in a month or two. I get sidetracked with Playing and writing music, and have recently tried to find time to learn 3d modeling on my pc. Also got sidetracked with Civilization, and with Civ3 due on the shelves tommorow, will be tied up with that for a while. Spwaw is STILL one of my all time favorites and will continue to get back to it. It looks as if Matrix has some more games due in the future which have me drooling in anticipation. So I hope that this post finds everyone well, and glad to see all of the new players. Will continue to lurk, and when the time is right will be spending much too much time playing this great game!!!

I'm sure I'll be putting my Mega Camp CD back in it's worn spot soon. Give the "newbies" a taste of Pack Rats' dread Tigers PR [ November 03, 2001: Message edited by: Pack Rat ]

Some of us are busy. Some of us get singed when we do post generally for posting ideas that are either impractical or unpopular. Some of us are busy playing SPwaw or something similar. We wait for the avalanche of pre christmas releases.

Well, Dunno if I qualify as a "veteran" but I'm still hanging around. There's this annoying thing called "real life" that has forced me to suspend (or considerably slow down) my attendance to this forum and my playing of SPWAW (and all Computer Games for that matter). Still haven't abandonned my "La Défence" campaign (France 1940 on the French side). 3.5 scenarios done, 8.5 to go! Wish me luck! Christophe
