With the demise of a modern version of SPWAW, I was wondering wether it would be feasible to extend the time limit of the game to 1959. Up to that date, the weapons used in conflicts were extensions of the ones developped in WWII, and I believe the game engine would be able to handle weapon performance in that extra period without too many problems.
Of course OOB's would have to be added to as well as a few countries but apart from that the game would remain essentially unchanged. The great advantage we could get from such an extension would be the ability to model several interesting post-WWII conflicts such as Korea, Indochina and the Arab-Israeli war of '56. Just as the 30's period enables us to create Spanish Civil war scenarios, it would be nice if we could make other, non-WWII, scenarios. Just a thought, being curious at what others may think of it.
