Hi, Been keeping an eye on this game and "struggle against Japan" for some time and i think that so far things look quite promissing. I have some questions however and the first one is about damage control and how this is factored into the game. Also will we be able to order escorting ships to aid say a hit Carrier in fighting onboard fires ? this happened quite frequently during the war and i think it would be cool to have in the game. When a damaged ship is dead in the water as a result of heavy damage to engines and boilers will we be able to order escorts to tow it back to a friendly port for repairs ? or will ships always be able to "repair" at sea and make enough steam to head for home. Thats it for now Thanks Stephen

UV is an operational level game with 12 hour turns. Damage to ships consists of system damage, flotation damage and fires and ships that are damaged can sustain more damage (especially if they are at sea). The size of the port impacts repair times for ships in port. Crew quality impacts additional damage sustained once damaged, and there is an option to set Historical Allied Damage Control Advantage which if set gives the Allies better damage control. As for towing, we decided for simplicity we would allow all ships to move a minimum of 2.5 knots an hour. Ships will rescue troops that are loaded on ships that sink. Also, ships that are scuttled score less victory points for the enemy as it's assumed that more of the crew is saved when a ship is volutarily scuttled. Hope that answers your questions. Joel
