I still think its either the Fuso or Yamashiro in the early twenties. Picture #1 is from the bow looking aft. Picture #2 is from the stern looking forward (hence small spotting top is closest to the camera). In picture #2, the ship is not underway, so no smoke. Picture #3 is taken from the forward funnel looking aft, with the number 3 turret (counting from the bow) out of frame below, and the backside of turret 4 just behind the second smokestack. Note the deckhouse aft of the turret in view. Also note the main deck level ending just aft of that deckhouse. I dont think its a Kongo, because the Kongo types did not have a deckhouse aft of the third turret (just a large open main deck area): http://www.military.cz/ww2_ships/Japan/BB/Kongo/kongo.htm I dont think its an Ise/Hyuga, because turrets number 3 and four are too close together, and you should see them in picture # 3. Also, the main deck level of the Ise ends just at the barbette of turret number three: http://www.military.cz/ww2_ships/Japan/BB/Ise/ise.htm I dont think its a Mutsu/Nagato, because they had only four twin turrets (two forward, two aft, no obstructions to their field of fire), and the main deck level ending at turret number three: http://www.military.cz/ww2_ships/Japan/BB/Mutsu/mutsu.htm British ships had larger spotting tops than can be seen in picture #1, and slightly larger bridge are superstructures: http://www.pbenyon.plus.com/Janes_1919/B_Ships/Erin_52.html You guys have tripped over my real lifelong interest. That said, I am prone to mistakes too...
