Hola/Hi:

(Not to write in English, this way well that I it have to write in Spanish, sorry.....)

Translation is:

The AI is frustrating.

I'm playing on the "very hard" level, the big campaign "scenario 15"; I'm in 01/26/43 and I've occupied Tugali and Lunga. The Japanese keep moving from Rabaul to Russel with a TF of 15 or 16 ships, from which 5 or 6 are CVs or CVLs, what is alright but what I don't like is that having enough damage and without being able to launch from all ships no more than 6 fighters, it keeps strolling back and forth without retiring.

Therefore during 15 or 20 turns, my aircraft put their boots (uh? perhaps expression meaning "kick them"), with that the game lose a lot of interest.

Does the AI improve with patch 1.3?

F.

PS: Not a spanish-speaking guy here, but I can usually understand what they say.
PS II: Thread title is "The Damned AI", if you're wondering

Something I have been advocating for quite some time is to add yourself some restrictions for the effect of suspending disbelief.

My point is: the game allows you to do a lot of stuff that in real life you can't. For example, you can give orders to all of your ships and air groups at the same time, and they are immediately executed. I believe that in real life it takes several days if not weeks to have everybody involved ready to do anything.

That gives the human player an unfair advantage over the AI; while it's true that the AI could do the same in theory, I think the AI was programmed to slow down its actions and be morose, as an attempt to play historically. As the human player isn't bound to that and can play as unhistorically as he wants, that's the advantage.

F.

Sorry for not using english, guys.
