the level and amount of historical unit detail in this game is IMPRESSIVE !! but at the same time it is also intimidating.

20,000 leaders
8,000+ ships
40,000+ devices for the 8,000+ ships
500+ bases

playability is about the manageability of the data and being able to look at the data in 100+ different ways
a single level of recursion within a class of data works ok for naval and air units.. but not for OOB
playability would be vastly improved if HQ class data could be instantiated with up to 10 levels of recursion.

Totally agree with that. Maybe one day the we'll finally be allowed to access the game state data and choose our own ways of looking at the game data. We can but hope.
